The Birdhouse Calligraphy: Beautiful Calligraphy, Quotes and More!

Recently, The Birdhouse Calligraphy got in touch with me asking if I could feature some of their products on my blog.  I love working with brands, and when I saw their products I completely fell in love and jumped at the opportunity.  I was sent over a gorgeous card, which I’ll be using for my Mum’s birthday (when this goes up, that will have been yesterday!)

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Not only is this card super gorgeous, it’s beautifully crafted and so relevant to me and my mum!  I totally love it!

The Birdhouse Calligraphy offers many designs on their website, all hand written in beautiful calligraphy, and they do quotes and cards.  The quotes can be framed around your house, or just used as a gift or anything really!  They’re beautiful and many are so inspiring: plus, there are lots of pieces available for animal lovers!  You can see examples of their lovely work on their instagram here or on their etsy store here.

I truly am in love with their designs, and I think that Louise is so talented.  I’ve featured some images of their other designs below, which are my absolute favourites!

Those are some of my favourite designs from the shop: they’re so pretty and would look so lovely pegged up on a photo line (I have one of these in my room, filled with pictures and postcards from paperchase: these quotes would make such a wonderful addition!). However, if you don’t find one that tickles your fancy, worry not.  You can always ask for a personalised design, they make whatever you want, which is so lovely.  Everything is hand drawn, there is no digital printing; this makes it personal, and so sentimental.  I love thoughtful brands like The Birdhouse Calligraphy – they’re so special!

Also, Louise has given me a 10% off code for my readers, which you should totally use! It’s THANKS10 !

What I Got For My 15th Birthday!

So, if you didn’t know, on the 8th of August 2017 I turned 15.  For the day, me, my mum and my brother went to Bristol to do some shopping and we also visited a cat cafe, which was so lovely!  All the cats were so cute, and the kittens there were absolutely gorgeous; I could’ve 100% taken them all home with me.  Judging by the picture below, I’m pretty sure that you can tell how cute all the cats were and that I was in crazy cat lady heaven!

Anyway, in the morning I opened all of my cards and presents.  A lot of my relatives gave me money, which is great as I really love to buy myself my own bits on my birthday: I’m pretty bad a surprises, however the ones I did get this year were so amazing and totally perfect for me!

My Grandma got me some face masks from Superdrug, and a hair mask!  I have a massive obsession with the little face masks that come in packets; they’re really convenient and always make my skin feel super soft, so I really can’t wait to use these. I’ve been waiting to take pictures for this post before using them, so now I have I can have myself a lovely little pamper session! You can expect reviews of these, or maybe even a spa night post, I haven’t decided!

I also got a huge surprise from my brother, which I totally didn’t expect but absolutely love and have wanted forever!  He got me the Friends box set!  This is such a great thing to get me, because now I can catch up on all the episodes and my favourite bits before I go to Friends Fest in Oxford on the 24th – I’m so excited! I’ve already watched most of season 1, and I’m so happy to be watching it again.  Have you seen Friends, it’s clearly one of my favourites!

friends and pandora

As you can tell in the picture above, I also bought myself a pandora ring with my birthday money!  I’ve wanted one for ages, and when I saw this I thought it was so pretty!  It was £35, and I’ve worn it every day since!

I also bought myself the Urban Decay Naked palette, and now I kind of want to collect all of them.  I can tell this will be my palette of choice over autumn and winter; it has so many gorgeous shimmery shades and some great cool toned mattes, so it’s pretty much perfect!  This was £39.50, and because it was my birthday, the lady serving me gave me some free samples which was amazing; I got the primer potion and perversion mascara, both of which I have tested and can say I really like!

And the final thing I received from all my friends the day after my birthday.  This was such a lovely surprise, and I can’t wait to get some gorgeous pictures with it!  They got me the Instax Mini 8 polaroid camera in white, which is so pretty and looks so beautiful in my room. They also got me some fairy lights and pegs so that I could hang up some pictures I take, and some cool camera lenses to go with it!  They’re so generous and this was such a special present; thank you to all of you, if you’re reading this!

Ok so thats everything I got for my birthday!  I still have loads of birthday money left to spend, so I’m thinking I might buy another ring or some more makeup, or save it until all the autumnal clothes come out in shops (I am really excited for autumn if you couldn’t tell!)

Also, thank you for 100 instagram followers!  Make sure you’re following me over there, im @lovesophblog_

What I Got For My Fourteenth Birthday!

Hi guys!

As a lot of you are aware, yesterday was my birthday and I turned fourteen! I had an amazing day shopping in Bath with my mum, after opening my presents in the morning and all my cards! I really love everything I got and in true tradition, I decided to share it with you!  I’d really like to thank all of you (and yesterday I did a small post but I’ll do it again), I’m so insanely greatful to celebrate my birthday with so many friends on the internet I never expected to make!!  Especially thanks to Alanna who made a post, you’re amazing!!

What i got for my 14th birthday

So, starting with the main present I got, which was from my Mum and Dad.  THEY GOT ME A NEW LAPTOP!!  To be fair, I knew this was coming, because I helped my Mum (and Dad, but really my Mum chooses everything for my birthday!) choose it so she knew the right one.  It’s the best thing ever.  My old laptop was three years old, and while I still use it to play Sims on, I can leave it under my bed now safe in the notion that a brand new, shiny laptop is waiting on my desk to run so fast and not be all old and decrepid!

So yes, there is my laptop thriving with it’s lovely watermelon background – you can get the background on my pinterest, it is linked within my lockscreens board!

Up next are all the presents I got from my friends.  I’m super greatful they got me these and they didn’t have to, but all the presents are so lovely.

I recived this gorgeous notice board full with pictures of my friends and myself!  Its so cute and matches my decor 100%!

I also got this mug, which epitomises me! It also came with Dreamies, my cats favourite treats inside of it!!

Next was two gorgeous bath bombs which I have used already, they smell amazing and made my skin so soft.  Plus, the first one looks like you could eat it!

I also got this owl ornament which looks gorgeous on my dresser and holds my fairylights in place perfectly!

With this also came the Zoella Scrubbing Me Softly body scrub, which is amazing, and a cat teddy because everyone knows I’m obsessed with cats.

I also got this adorable boofle mug which is so cute as I literally collect boofle things, this was perfect!  Plus, I don’t have enough cute mugs anyway!

The nailpolish by Barry M I mentioned in this post comes next, alongside a gorgeous hand cream and shower wash from the body shop!  They are so nice & the hand cream is the perfect size to keep in my school bag.

Last from my friends is a GORGEOUS scrapbooking kit from Cath Kidston.  I can’t wait to start this scrapbook, if you’d like to see any posts about scrapbooking then I’d be more than happy to do some! However, the picture I took won’t upload for whatever reason, and I don’t have enough time to figure it out!! But if I ever do a post on it, you’ll see it then.

A lot of these presents came with chocolate, which I’d show you but it’s currently being digested in my stomach :\

So, up next is the few items I got with my birthday money.  The money I got from family and friends came to a total of £150.00, yet I only spent £30.00 of it yesterday in Bath!  I always save lots of my birthday money for the winter months, as I find buying clothes in August is always quite pointless because A, its never warm anyway, and B, I’d rather wait to buy something nice for winter versus a top I’m going to wear for about five more weeks!

Firstly is this top from Topshop.  It’s one of their cropped vest tops, its ribbed material and really strecthy and comfy.  Alone, this was £6.00 however I got two for £10.00 in a deal. My other one is gray and looks just like this, but I’m wearing it now and I couldn’t be bothered to take pictures to show you.

Jack Wills had a sale on, and while I wanted to spend loads in there on summery tops, I refrained and instead got this gorgeous makeup bag which I am actually going to use as this years pencil case.  It was £6.50, and it is very spacious inside.

In superdrug there was a three for two deal on Aussie products, so I took advantage of it.  I bought a shampoo, conditioner and hair treatment.  I have tested them all out this morning and can 100% say they smell amazing and made my hair so smooth!

I also got this facemask in superdrug, which I again tried today and I found out that I loved it and would definitely repurchase.  I also got these makeup wipes by St. Ives.

I believe that concludes it for everything I got for my birthday! Now the fact that theres money sloshing about in my bank waiting to be spent this winter means lots of hauls, I have a collective summer haul to be going up also at the end of summer when I’ve bought everything, so watch out for that.

Again, one huge thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday, left me comments or tweeted me.  You’re amazing!  Thank you to everyone who got me gifts or money and cards, I appreciate everything.

Love Soph xx

Birthday Haul

Hello, Hello!

So, my Birthday was a couple of days ago (8th August) and I was in the car coming back from France for 16 hours!! Anyway, I therefore wanted to share with you all my birthday presents!!

Just as a bit of a disclaimer, I am in no way trying to brag about my presents, and I am very grateful for them all!

SO, lets begin!

My Grandma’s gift was a skincare set from No7.  It includes the Beautiful Skin day cream for normal to oily skin with spf 15 & The night cream for dry to oily skin.  I also got the cleansing water.  Guess what, I FREAKING LOVE THEM!! They’re actually amazing no joke, you will be getting a review soon!  I also got 40 pounds from her.  Thank you very much, Grandma!

Next is courtesy of my brother, the sometimes amazing creature that he is!! *I actually knew I was getting this but I am still surprised that my brother agreed to getting me this!

It is MAC mineralize moisture foundation shade NW20, which matched perfectly!! And it came with a couple of samples of the mascara False Lashes in Extreme Black, which is really good I’m thinking of buying!

My Mum bought me this motivational book, The Art Of Becoming A Brilliant Teenager, because I was turning thirteen.  It is infact amazing, I read it on the way back from France and if I wasn’t cooped up in the corner of a car, I would have so gone and done motivational things (yet to be discovered). Anyway, I love it so much!!  I also got 100 pounds so thank you very much Mama!!

My other Grandma got me these chocolates & gorgeous candles!  And also 40 pounds again, Thank you very much Grandma!!

And then on the boat back from France, my mother felt sorry for me (you know, travelling on your birthday and all isn’t fun.  At all) so she decided to buy me makeup.  And not only makeup, but benefit makeup.

Here is my Watts Up highlighter.  OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BOMB.  I love love love love love it!! Thank you for feeling sorry for me Mum.  It is just so great I mean seriously, everyone needs this.  Review to come soon!

So, that is the birthday haul, here are all the presents as a gathering all together.

I’m back from France!!! I missed you and I missed my gorgeous 5 bars of wifi so much! Anyway, here’s the extra small deal:

I won’t be posting any pictures until I get the time to upload them to my laptop, I got back at 1am and am currently in bed.

It was my birthday yesterday which was annoying seen as we were travelling but I got great presents so expect a birthday haul!!

And a haul from France too!  I got stuff there.

And I also want to praise France for their excellent, excellent supermarkets.  They sold me a CREPE MAKER for gods sake.  I have now completed my life!

So expect crepe tutorials when I learn to make them!

Anyway, I’ll be posting again today just later on.  Let me give you my quick to do list for today (I don’t have to but I want to because I have to have a tidy room full of birthday presents lol):

  • My new bedding is in the wash and I need to get it dry, ironed and on my bed! I bought this gorgeous throw in France (which I had to sit on for the whole journey home because there was no room in the boot) which matches so perfectly with my white striped bedding.   I’m very excited.
  • De-rubbish & de-clutter ones room to make sure I can get all my great birthday presents on display.
  • Set up my brothers Xbox 360 in my room for when my cousins come over.  In his room will be the Xbox one.  They need entertaining, trust.
  • Get all my clothes from my holiday clean and back in my wardrobe.

It’s a very stressful life, on top of this I want to make crepes.  Which also means I’ll have to walk to the shop to get milk and eggs and flour and then probably a small food shop.  And I need to catch up on youtube, I mean the jobs are just never ending!

See you later today…..With one of the previously mentioned post ideas 😉

Zalfie fanatic out 🙂
