Whats In My Bag? | Autumn Edition

Now the weather is getting loads colder, I’ve switched from my trusty Fjallraven Kanken bag to my favourite autumn bag.  I love having  a new bag for each season, and this one from River Island makes such a nice addition to an outfit. The colour is SO GORGEOUS and I totally love this bag!

It’s a few years old now, so you can’t get it on River Island’s website anymore, but I absolutely adore it.  It’s a nice burgundy colour, so it isn’t too in your face but it isn’t boring either.  It’s really quite small, which I prefer because it means I’ll only bring my essentials and what I need with me instead of loads of pointless bits and bats.  It’s a bit of a satchel style, and the hardwear is gold which is something I wouldn’t usually go for but I really like it here.

In the first front pocket, I usually keep my phone but I was taking the pictures with it.  I also keep my Jack Wills purse, it’s more of a coin purse but I prefer a small purse because it takes up less room and there’s less fuss.  I also have my Burts Bees peppermint lip balm, it’s really moisturising and I bring this everywhere.

In the main compartment I have a card holder.  I pay for most things on my debit card, and I also keep my bus pass in here.  I also have a mascara and a compact mirror, along with a pen.  I always have a pen with me, you really never know when you’ll need one!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

In the very back zipped compartment I have some plasters and some bobbles.  I also have some chewing gum.  I’m prone to blisters very often, so plasters are a must for me. Chewing gum is always an essential too, and I can’t go a day without a bobble!

So, thats all thats in my bag.  What are your bag essentials? Do we share any of the same things?

The Eyeshadow Palette You Need For Autumn

Is it too soon to start posting autumnal themed posts yet?  I hope not, because I have many more planned!  Anyway, today I’m here to ramble on about my new favourite love: The Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I love to switch my eyeshadow up as the seasons change, and one of my favourite seasons to do so in is, of course, autumn! I’ve found this palette, and I’ve been LOVING it for a while now and it’s going to be perfect to see me through the next few months!  You can create some gorgeous looks with it, and it’s such high quality.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

I personally prefer a cool toned palette for autumn, and while I know others like warmer toned palettes like the Urban Decay Naked Heat, I love a cool toned one as I feel it’s more versatile.  Summer saw me obsessing over the Too Faced Peach Palette, and I’m definitely ready to change everything up for this palette.  The Naked palette lets you create a really nice, understated everyday look, which is perfect for school, however you can also create a bolder look, or something fractionally more dramatic just for a day out.

It’s a really versatile palette, and the brush and mirror make it so great for travel as it would help you to travel a lot lighter.  The shades are really pigmented and they blend so easily:  I’ve found that if you wet your brush when using any of the shimmer/satin shades, then you get a much nicer finish and a far stronger colour.  My only issue with this palette is that there are only two mattes, and they’re relatively similar shades (naked & buck), I’d have quite liked some more mattes as you’d have been able to create some more looks, however it’s such a great palette so it really is only a minor issue.

For £39.50 I think it is a really great value palette and will last ages.  I would definitely love to get some more of the Naked palettes, they are great quality and I’d quite like to try some more out.  Have you ever tried a Naked palette?

My Year 11 BTS Goals!

Hi everyone!

For me, this is a Monday evening and today I went back to school (although you’ll be reading this on Wednesday, and I’ll have been there for two days and will be fully into the swing of things by then!) and it wasn’t quite as bad as I thought it would be! Now, yes it was boring and the lessons were tiresome as ever – seriously, who gives someone all three sciences, maths and double english in one day? However, negativity is not the way to start a new year, and so that’s why I thought I would come over to the blog and write a little about some of my back to school goals for this year!  Maybe I’ll do a post checking up on them in a few months?  Also, incase anyone didn’t know, I’m in Year 11 which is a really important year as I have my GCSEs in just 9 months and I’m sure it’ll whizz by!

  • Do all homework the night it is set

Or near enough…

Of course, this will pretty much differ a lot when I have larger bits of coursework (cough cough food tech) to do, but I’m going to try doing all my homework the night I get it so it won’t pile up around me!

  • Pack my bag the night before

See, this always makes me feel so much more organised in the morning when I do it, so I’m determined to have my bag already packed every morning to make sure I don’t forget things I need like calculators and pencil cases; believe me, the amount of times I’ve forgotten these is mad!

  • Work on my maths

If you know me, you’ll know maths (and chemistry, but that’s an entire different and violently boring story) is my biggest hate in life and that I simply cannot do it at all!  I want to work on my maths this year so I can do my GCSE to some level of a decent standard and pass it?  Am I asking for too much, I hope not!  I’ll just have to practice, practice and practice but it all will (hopefully) work out in the end!

  • Keep my room clean

My room gets in such a state during the school term because I’m a very messy person and school doesn’t help me keep it organised.  I’m going to try making my bed every morning and keeping my floor tidy, and most importantly my desk tidy!  I hope this will help when I get my new windows fitted and my room will be more bright, as maybe then it will motivate me to keep it cleaner; who knows!

  • Get up at the same time every morning

I live dangerously close to school, which means I can literally get up ten minutes before I’m supposed to be there, throw on my clothes and chuck some makeup on my face and leave.  However, this means I’m basically still not awake while I’m sat in form.  I want to be up early enough to have time to get ready nicely on a morning (today was 6:45am, and I’d rather like that to last) but also where it wont make me too tired throughout the day.

  • Try to make notes of my lessons in full every week

I know this will help me so much around revision time and when GCSEs and mocks hit me, so I’m going to try my hardest to do this.  I only wish I’d done it since the start of year ten (if you’re starting year ten, I really recommend this to you as it wont take too much time if you make good class notes but it’ll make revision SO much easier!)

So, those are all of my goals for back to school, and I just hope I can achieve them!  What are your goals for this year? Got a similar post? Link me to it in the comments and I’ll be sure to check it out.  Also, make sure to tell me all about your first day back at school too! This will probably be one of my last back to school related posts, unless you have any huge wants for a post I havent written, in which case I’m more than happy to take suggestions!

What I Got For My 15th Birthday!

So, if you didn’t know, on the 8th of August 2017 I turned 15.  For the day, me, my mum and my brother went to Bristol to do some shopping and we also visited a cat cafe, which was so lovely!  All the cats were so cute, and the kittens there were absolutely gorgeous; I could’ve 100% taken them all home with me.  Judging by the picture below, I’m pretty sure that you can tell how cute all the cats were and that I was in crazy cat lady heaven!

little kitty

Anyway, in the morning I opened all of my cards and presents.  A lot of my relatives gave me money, which is great as I really love to buy myself my own bits on my birthday: I’m pretty bad a surprises, however the ones I did get this year were so amazing and totally perfect for me!

My Grandma got me some face masks from Superdrug, and a hair mask!  I have a massive obsession with the little face masks that come in packets; they’re really convenient and always make my skin feel super soft, so I really can’t wait to use these. I’ve been waiting to take pictures for this post before using them, so now I have I can have myself a lovely little pamper session! You can expect reviews of these, or maybe even a spa night post, I haven’t decided!

face masks

I also got a huge surprise from my brother, which I totally didn’t expect but absolutely love and have wanted forever!  He got me the Friends box set!  This is such a great thing to get me, because now I can catch up on all the episodes and my favourite bits before I go to Friends Fest in Oxford on the 24th – I’m so excited! I’ve already watched most of season 1, and I’m so happy to be watching it again.  Have you seen Friends, it’s clearly one of my favourites!

friends and pandora

As you can tell in the picture above, I also bought myself a pandora ring with my birthday money!  I’ve wanted one for ages, and when I saw this I thought it was so pretty!  It was £35, and I’ve worn it every day since!

I also bought myself the Urban Decay Naked palette, and now I kind of want to collect all of them.  I can tell this will be my palette of choice over autumn and winter; it has so many gorgeous shimmery shades and some great cool toned mattes, so it’s pretty much perfect!  This was £39.50, and because it was my birthday, the lady serving me gave me some free samples which was amazing; I got the primer potion and perversion mascara, both of which I have tested and can say I really like!

muchnaked

And the final thing I received from all my friends the day after my birthday.  This was such a lovely surprise, and I can’t wait to get some gorgeous pictures with it!  They got me the Instax Mini 8 polaroid camera in white, which is so pretty and looks so beautiful in my room. They also got me some fairy lights and pegs so that I could hang up some pictures I take, and some cool camera lenses to go with it!  They’re so generous and this was such a special present; thank you to all of you, if you’re reading this!

camera

Ok so thats everything I got for my birthday!  I still have loads of birthday money left to spend, so I’m thinking I might buy another ring or some more makeup, or save it until all the autumnal clothes come out in shops (I am really excited for autumn if you couldn’t tell!)

Also, thank you for 100 instagram followers!  Make sure you’re following me over there, im @lovesophblog_

Liebster Award – Tag Tuesday!

Hey everyone,

So, before I get into the post I’ve decided that I do need to get on top of tags/awards that I am nominated for, and so I have decided to do so by creating ‘Tag Tuesday’ on my blog! Basically, whenever I am nominated for a tag or an award, I’ll post them on a Tuesday, which means that every so often there should be an extra post a week!

3and3quarters.net

So, onto the post, the lovely Courtney Eve has nominated me for the Leibster Award!  I always enjoy doing these because they let you know so much more about bloggers, they’re super fun.  So, make sure to go check out Courtney’s Blog and follow her!

The official rules for the award can be found here, on the Global Aussie’s blog.

Courtney’s Questions …..

  1. What is your favourite thing to cook and/or bake? I love to bake, I do food technology GCSE so I cook pretty much every week.  I loved making white chocolate and dark chocolate layered mousse with berry composite, but one of my true favourite things to bake are any form of bakewell tart; frangipani is my absolute favourite!
  2. What’s the most extreme thing you’ve ever done? I don’t do many extreme things, but I suppose you could say my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award practice walk was the most extreme thing.  We walked 20K on the first day, with a huge 16KG backpack on, and then camped (sleeping on the floor of the tent, which was a tragic time for my back) and then walked another 15K the next day.  I had to learn to navigate from a map and it really tests your patience to spend so much time with so few people!
  3. What would be the first thing you’d do if you won the lottery? How much are we talking?! If I won the lottery, the first thing I’d do would go and tell my Mum so we could make plans of what to do! We’d probably book a nice relaxing holiday to soak in the news, and then I guess I’d start buying myself lots of nice things.
  4. Of all the places you’ve travelled to, which one is your favourite? The south of France wins by miles.  I love France, it’s so pretty and the beaches in the south are amazing, not to mention the weather.  My favourite place has to be Pont Du Garde in Avignon, it’s so pretty and there’s a huge supermarket around the corner – I sound so sad, but French supermarkets are pretty amazing!
  5. What is your favourite book, movie, and TV show? My favourite book has to be All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, my favourite movie is Pretty Woman and my favourite TV show has to be Gossip Girl!
  6. What do you do in your down-time? I sleep, or at least lie in bed on my phone!  I seem to be always tired, so whenever I’m not doing anything, I’m usually in bed!
  7. What is your favourite post you’ve written and why? This is really tough, but my favourite post has to be either my Technic Makeup Review   because it was my first PR related post and quite a turning point for my blog, or my Tips For New Bloggers  post because I feel like it’s been pretty useful to people!
  8. What is the scariest thing you’ve experienced? Hmmm, maybe every spider I’ve ever seen in my life? That, and the Edinburgh Dungeons; I love horror films but the whole live action people screaming at me isn’t a thing I enjoy.  The whole time I was more scared of being picked to go up and get locked in a cage or something stupid more than the actual experience!
  9. If you could take anyone travelling with you, who would it be and why? I’d probably take my best friend, because we live so far apart and basically never see each other (she lives in Yorkshire, I’m down here in Wiltshire and we only see each other for a few days in the summer and at christmas), so it would be amazing to go travelling with her and spend loads of time together!
  10. What is one place you’d love to see? New York is the place I’d love to see the most.  I think it’s such a breathtaking city and I’m so determined to go there; plus, I want to see all the gossip girl filming locations!  If not New York, then somewhere a little closer to home is the hill in Bristol with the bench where a whole host of scenes from the tv show ‘Skins’ were filmed, and I just think it would be such a beautiful place to visit.
  11. What do you love about yourself? Not very much!  No, I’d be lying if I said there weren’t things I love about myself, but I’d say my number one thing would be my humor.  It’s very sarcastic and quite rude, not for everyone but I love it, and I never fail to make myself laugh? That makes me sound so very lonely, but it is true!

My Questions For You …..

  1. How many pets have you had, and what were their names?
  2. Someone has a gun to your head and they’re about to shoot you, you have one phone call, and if they pick up, you’re safe.  If they don’t, then you get shot.  Who are you calling?
  3. What is your biggest fear, and do you ever plan to overcome it?
  4. What would your dream world be like?
  5. Create an ice cream flavour and give it a name! What does it taste of, and what colour is it?
  6. What is one dream of yours that you never think you’ll achieve?
  7. And what is one dream of yours that you didn’t think you’d achieve, but that you have achieved or are in the process of achieving? (Wow! That sounds complicated!)
  8. What GCSE options did/are you taking, and what grades did you get/do you hope to get? (If you’re not from the UK, a different question is basically just what subjects did you take in high school!)
  9. Are you a heavy or light sleeper?
  10. Would you prefer to be liked by many, but have false friends, or hated by everyone with only one true friend?
  11. Tomorrow is the end of the world.  What are you doing with your last day?

I hope you enjoyed my answers, I can’t wait to see everybody’s answers to my questions!

My Haircare Routine

An overview of my favourite products to use on my hair at the moment!

An overview of my favourite products to use on my hair at the moment!

Haircare isn’t something I really talk about a lot on my blog, and it also isn’t something I’m super conscious of.  In all honesty, I’m like most people, and my hair is forever a mess of split ends!  However, I do have a current favourite ‘routine’ I’ve settled into and I figured I share it with you.  Just as a bit of background information, my hair is quite long and isn’t in the best of shape, though I refuse to cut any off other than 0.00005cm each time I go to the hairdressers because long hair is my thing.  I also wash it every day or every other day, and it’s quite thin and lacks volume, something which I have tried combatting in my haircare routine!

img_4348

So firstly, my shampoo and conditioner.  I use the L’oreal Elvive Fibrology range which has a thickening conditioner and shampoo.  After a while, I’ve sort of started to find this isn’t doing masses for my hair anymore and I imagine that when I run out of this, I’ll most likely switch to another brand (any recommendations are welcome!).  However, when I started using these I did notice that my hair seemed thicker and a touch more voluminous and easy to style.  img_4349

For me, most of my hair care takes place outside of the shower, and I really love using things overnight.  Due to my hair being pretty thin, it tends to get very knotty and scraggly looking within a day, hence why I have to brush it so much.  To make sure it stays soft, I really love these following couple of things!

img_4353

Firstly, I use the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Shine Deep Treatment.  Now, if I use this for three minutes as advised,  I don’t really notice much of a difference.  Everything seems a little softer, but for really silky smooth hair, I wet my hair and leave this on overnight.  I wake up with super smooth, silky hair and all I have to do is wash it out!  I also use this Josh Wood Radiant Shine hair treatment oil which I apply overnight to dry or wet hair, usually just to my horrifically damaged ends and it helps my hair look a touch more glowy and feel more soft in the morning!

img_4355

Whenever I really feel like pushing the boat out (which, let me inform you is not often – I’m lazy as heck) then I’ll use these two!  I use the Philip Kingsley elasticizer before shampoo and I find it helps to give my hair that extra bounce, and the Percy Reed Wonder Balm when I feel my hair needs more moisture, again I use this overnight on wet hair.

img_4351

The final product I use on my wet hair just before I’m about to dry it, and I use a few pumps and run it through my hair for some body and bounce!

Hope you enjoyed reading about the products I use on my hair!  What haircare products are your favourite?

My Stationary Favourites

I’m a self confessed stationary junkie, and so when I find cute stationary I will buy it.  I have my selected favourites, and I’m always using them.  I use cute stationary all the time; when I’m revising, doing homework and just making notes – I have enough to sink a ship and figured I would share with you guys some of my favourite bits.

img_4247

I love ring-binder folders, and I use them for everything; they’re so useful for storing my revision notes in for GCSEs and considering I’m in year 10, I assume I’m going to start to build up quite the collection!  Wilko do such amazing, but cheap stationary and their folders are no exception.  This one is so pretty, and I am in love with the gold foil writing ‘Hello Lovely’ – plus, it was only £1.25! I’m going to use this for English at the moment, and I’m going to gather myself a collection of pretty folders for each subject, it just helps to make revising that little bit easier!

img_4253

Revision cards are so useful, however sometimes I find them to be a little small or flimsy feeling, so I like to use these Silvine record cards, which are only £1.00 for 100!  They’re great for writing quotes on to learn, and then I like to stick them onto my wall so I can see them every day and they’ll ingrain in my memory.  I like that they’re a clean white ruled card, and they’re not super flimsy either.

img_4259img_4247

I’m a total highlighter junkie, and Stabilo Boss make the best highlighters.  I love the skinny flash ones, because they’re so easy to fit inside pencil cases, and they’re easier to hold than the fatter chunky ones.  Only, they run out quicker and don’t have as many colour options.  The chunky ones come in huge packs of eight with really interesting colours, and I love them because they’re so vibrant.

img_4255

On the topic of pens, I love fineliners.  Staedtler do some great ones, and I really like to use these fineliners.  They’re great for mindmaps, or writing notes in my planner.

img_4252

Finally, possibly the most used out of all my favourites, my planner.  Because all my homework for school is online, I love to keep track of it all in a planner like this cute one from paperchase, and then highlight it when I’m done. It helps me to keep track of everything I’m doing day to day, and I can stay more organised.

img_4249img_4251

So, I hope you all liked these favourites.  I’m planning on doing a whole huge post on revision and how I revise, although I know it’s not very apt considering GCSEs have started (how did they go, by the way, for those of you who’ve been doing them recently?) but better late than never right!  Anyway, I have my Year 10 exams soon, so I’m trying my hardest to start revision for those and get decent grades, which is unlikely but we can pray!

My Skincare Favourites: Sensitive And Dry Skin

My favourite skincare products with some horrible pictures – better ones are to follow!

I’ve never done a post specifically targeted to drier, more sensitive skin, which seems odd to me considering that is my skin type.  Typically, I have dry skin which is pretty sensitive, although (luckily for me!) I don’t break out often.  While some may experience breakouts when it comes to using the wrong products for their skin type, I tend to just experience dryness or redness, or a stinging sensation, especially around my eyes.  Anyway, over recent months I’ve managed to compile a selection of skincare which is PERFECT for any of you dry/sensitive skin sufferers around here!  Hopefully this will help you if you’re looking for some products to add moisture to your skin, or a new favourite product even if you don’t have the need for sensitive skin tailored products  – seriously, who doesn’t want some super moisturising, gentle skincare once in a while!

img_4218

So, starting with my more moisturiser related products, I have the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mask.  I had reviewed this a while ago, but I just want to reinforce the point; this is so amazing for stopping dry skin right in it’s track.  I totally love to use this, and when it’s soaked in I’ll wash it off with the scrub I’m going to talk about in a bit and it makes your skin so soft and it is so gentle!  It’s a win win situation.  Sadly for me, I get dry skin pretty much all over my body, especially my legs and this Nivea Creme is something that I feel has been around for ages – I have some memories of it from when I was younger, which is just weird!  I guess it shows that it sticks around, probably because it works.  I lather this on quite thick whenever I have dry patches of skin and leave it on overnight: by morning, my skin is smooth and soft!  My final dry skin saviour here is the Nuxe Paris Multi Purpose Dry Oil, and I love it.  When my face is really dry, I tend to use this under my moisturiser and it’s guaranteed to fix my issues!

The next thing I’m going to talk about is right in the back (sorry you can’t see because these pictures are so horrible!  I took them last night, bad lighting etc, I’m going to take some better quality ones very soon and update the post!) and it’s the Garnier Soothing Vitamin E Enriched Toner.  This is such a gentle yet effective toner, and it really helps even out my skin after washing.  Toners are really important after you’ve cleansed your skin to rebalance your pH levels, and so I always make sure to use one – this Garnier one is really refreshing and I look forward to using it every day!

Finally, from what I think is one of THE BEST high street skincare brands out there, the Neutrogena Spot Stress Control daily scrub.  I love this so much, it’s a gentle scrub which really helps to keep my skin soft and it claims to keep spots at bay – I use this daily, so perhaps this is the saviour to not having too many spots at the moment.  It smells very refreshing, like cucumber, and so is very calming on the skin.

I hope this post maybe helped some of you find some new skincare favourites!  Have you got any skincare holy grails?  Make sure to tell me in the comments!

Why I Love Me Tag

I am so excited to write this post.  An amazing friend of mine, Tash from ThoughtfulTash, has created an amazing tag all about self-love and realising that you are amazing (which I am all for, seriously who doesn’t need some self love every so often) and it is so important.  Tash is amazing for tagging me to do this tag because I want to get this out there to all you guys so you can do it too, it’s amazing!  We are constantly tearing ourselves down as a society, so it’s important to make us realise our self-worth every once in a while!

RULES:

  • Post the award on your blog
  • Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you
  • Leave a link to the original tag creator (ThoughtfulTash) to get a bit more info about WHY this tag has been made!
  • Write 10 things you love about YOURSELF and WHY
  • Nominate at least 5 other bloggers
  • In the comments of the blog post, spread more self-love with compliments to each other! THE MORE LOVE THE BETTER!

10 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MYSELF:

  1. I Love…Being Tall –  Okay so I’m not the tallest girl I know, but I am pretty tall and I really like it.  I feel like it’s so much more convenient for me; I can reach everything in tall spaces and I don’t have to worry about not being able to see things.  I mean it does make buying jeans really hard because I have the gangliest spider legs that exist with really long arms too so everything is just a little bit short on my arms and legs but hey, tallness is cool.
  2. I Love…My Freckles – I’m the most typical pale girl covered in freckles and oh my god sometimes I totally despise them, but recently, as I’ve been getting (dare I say it?!) a slight tan, they’re blending into my skin a little bit and I really like them.
  3. I Love…My Spontaneity – Look, don’t get me wrong I am so anti social it’s insane but I like to think I’m quite spontaneous; I don’t zoom out on cute, instagram worthy adventures at the drop of a hat but I’m quite adaptable and I can be persuaded to do something pretty easily?
  4. I Love…My Love For Animals – I adore animals (apart from spiders and wasps, I could never see them again and it would be too soon) and I would never be able to live without them!  I adore my cats (here she goes again, a fifteen hour-long rant on her cats) and literally all other animals are so great and pure.  Give me any animal and I will love it so much.  Plus, people who love animals are easier to trust, right?
  5. I Love…How Outgoing I am – I can get along with everyone, even if I don’t really like them (please don’t be deceived by this – I like you all!) and I feel like I’m quite an easy to get along with person myself.  I mean I’m probably not and everyone is probably screaming at me like ‘no we hate you’ but at least I can think this and how much I appreciate that quality of myself!
  6. I Love…My Humor – I am incredibly sarcastic, if you couldn’t tell, and I often put myself down with a good old self-deprecating joke but I secretly love to joke about myself and I laugh at basically anything.
  7. I Love…My Love Of Makeup – Well doesn’t this sound a bit shallow?  Am I desperate to find things to love? Maybe. NO!  Here’s the thing; I am so unartistic it’s just mad like I can’t draw a cat it’s that bad.  But, I feel like since I invest a lot of time and money into makeup and my face sometimes looks like a bit okay and well done. Sometimes my eyeshadow looks passable and it makes me feel nice and confident, plus I really enjoy doing it so yeah, I love it.
  8. I Love…My Resilience  – I bounce back very easily from difficult and stressful situations.  If something bad happens to me or something remotely stressing then I feel like I get back up and deal with it head on without trying to ignore it; very little effects me and makes me feel down really.
  9. I Love…My Eyes – I’ve always thought my eyes were a bit weird, they’re all the ‘generic’ eye colours (I say very loosely).  They are blue-green and they have a weird  brown tinge to them round the pupil.  I never really liked them but more recently I’ve started to enjoy them more!
  10. I Love…My Blog – As much as I’m the worst at producing decent content or actually updating my blog, I love it and feel like it’s a part of me.  It’s really helped me over the years to gain confidence (even though I wasn’t a super shy person in the first place) and to improve writing skills.  It’s just an experience I don’t think many people get to go through (even though they totally could and should!) and I’m really glad I’ve got it as part of me.

MY NOMINEES:

  1. Marble Beauty
  2. Okaaythen
  3. Pale Girl Rambling
  4. Elly, A Hufflepuff’s Thoughts
  5. Skyyjade

Of course, these people I have nominated but if you want to do this tag then please feel free!  I am so happy that Tash created this, it’s such an important tag for people to do!  Everyone needs a little self-love every so often!

Summer Goals 2017

I think making goals for the season ahead can be a really nice way to put your priorities into perspective and help you stay organised and on track with what you want to achieve throughout that season.  Most of my goals for previous seasons always seem to be more academic, hence why I always feel overwhelmed by them and never end up fully doing a good job at it; they’re too broad and for a procrastinating soul like myself, they’re often not achievable! I’ve decided that for the summer season (even though I’d technically say we’re still in Spring, until Saturday I think, but I’m looking forward to summer in a big way!) I’m going to take my goals and really pinpoint what I want to get out of the season through them – and try not to focus them around school too much!

1. Visit more places

I’m going to do a summer bucket list soon, as I have lots of places I want to go and things I want to do this summer, but one of my largest goals is to visit lots of lovely places in the UK.  This is my first proper summer living down south, and not only do I want to make the most of the good weather (all my friends say it’s not really that hot, but having come from the 15 degrees maximum north of the UK to the sometimes 26 degrees south of the UK, I assure you the heat difference is immense and also very lovely) but I want to make the most of this nice weather in lovely places.  We’ve recently had some amazing spring weather and last weekend I went to two lovely beaches with my family: Chesil Beach and Lyme Regis, both of which were lovely.  I fell asleep on Chesil Beach, which was a huge pebbly beach but the pebbles weren’t hard and nasty, they moulded into really nice beds, hence my sleeping.  Lyme Regis was very English seaside, which I love and the beach huts were really pretty.  My main goal really, is to enjoy what the UK has to offer over Summer and visit lots of pretty beaches and take lots of lovely pictures, especially when my best friend comes down from Yorkshire to see me!

2. Stay on top of my homework/coursework:

I know, I said I’d refrain from the academic goals but this is one I want to achieve and strive towards.  Homework piles up really quickly, especially now I’m doing my GCSEs and I really do try to tackle it in an efficient way but it still seems to be drowning me!  Do any of you also get this problem?  I’ve decided to try get loads of homework done during the evening as soon as I get back from school, and not to do it the night before it’s due.  I have serious respect for those of you who can just do your homework and coursework the day you get it, no distractions or procrastination involved  because I always procrastinate on my phone!

3. Make my life more organised

My life is a mess sometimes, I’m never organised and even the simplest things like not packing my bag for school the night before really make me go into unorganised meltdown!  I’m planning on (not that we can promise this will happen!) making my life a little more organised; keeping my room clean and tidy, keeping track of my blog posts and always having something up to schedule, getting myself ready for school the night before, waking up early and other small bits and bobs to keep me organised on a daily basis!

4. Watch everything on my Netflix watch list

Am I the only person who gets irrationally annoyed when my watch list on Netflix is a mess?  I have so many things listed on there for me to watch and so little time; having already watched Gossip Girl and Skins, I’ve decided to rewatch both (and not for the first time either!) but this leaves me in a predicament.  I have basically no time to watch any of the others I want to watch like Riverdale and Stranger Things.  I cannot wait for the Easter holidays, because lazy old me will be going on a massive binging session, especially when the new season of PLL comes out!

So, those were my goals for the spring/summer months.  I hope you enjoyed them – what are your goals?  Have you got any netflix recommendations for me, even though my watch list is too long to function! Have a lovely week!
