What I Got For My 15th Birthday!

So, if you didn’t know, on the 8th of August 2017 I turned 15.  For the day, me, my mum and my brother went to Bristol to do some shopping and we also visited a cat cafe, which was so lovely!  All the cats were so cute, and the kittens there were absolutely gorgeous; I could’ve 100% taken them all home with me.  Judging by the picture below, I’m pretty sure that you can tell how cute all the cats were and that I was in crazy cat lady heaven!

little kitty

Anyway, in the morning I opened all of my cards and presents.  A lot of my relatives gave me money, which is great as I really love to buy myself my own bits on my birthday: I’m pretty bad a surprises, however the ones I did get this year were so amazing and totally perfect for me!

My Grandma got me some face masks from Superdrug, and a hair mask!  I have a massive obsession with the little face masks that come in packets; they’re really convenient and always make my skin feel super soft, so I really can’t wait to use these. I’ve been waiting to take pictures for this post before using them, so now I have I can have myself a lovely little pamper session! You can expect reviews of these, or maybe even a spa night post, I haven’t decided!

face masks

I also got a huge surprise from my brother, which I totally didn’t expect but absolutely love and have wanted forever!  He got me the Friends box set!  This is such a great thing to get me, because now I can catch up on all the episodes and my favourite bits before I go to Friends Fest in Oxford on the 24th – I’m so excited! I’ve already watched most of season 1, and I’m so happy to be watching it again.  Have you seen Friends, it’s clearly one of my favourites!

friends and pandora

As you can tell in the picture above, I also bought myself a pandora ring with my birthday money!  I’ve wanted one for ages, and when I saw this I thought it was so pretty!  It was £35, and I’ve worn it every day since!

I also bought myself the Urban Decay Naked palette, and now I kind of want to collect all of them.  I can tell this will be my palette of choice over autumn and winter; it has so many gorgeous shimmery shades and some great cool toned mattes, so it’s pretty much perfect!  This was £39.50, and because it was my birthday, the lady serving me gave me some free samples which was amazing; I got the primer potion and perversion mascara, both of which I have tested and can say I really like!

And the final thing I received from all my friends the day after my birthday.  This was such a lovely surprise, and I can’t wait to get some gorgeous pictures with it!  They got me the Instax Mini 8 polaroid camera in white, which is so pretty and looks so beautiful in my room. They also got me some fairy lights and pegs so that I could hang up some pictures I take, and some cool camera lenses to go with it!  They’re so generous and this was such a special present; thank you to all of you, if you’re reading this!

Ok so thats everything I got for my birthday!  I still have loads of birthday money left to spend, so I’m thinking I might buy another ring or some more makeup, or save it until all the autumnal clothes come out in shops (I am really excited for autumn if you couldn’t tell!)

Also, thank you for 100 instagram followers!  Make sure you’re following me over there, im @lovesophblog_

My Stationary Favourites

I’m a self confessed stationary junkie, and so when I find cute stationary I will buy it.  I have my selected favourites, and I’m always using them.  I use cute stationary all the time; when I’m revising, doing homework and just making notes – I have enough to sink a ship and figured I would share with you guys some of my favourite bits.

I love ring-binder folders, and I use them for everything; they’re so useful for storing my revision notes in for GCSEs and considering I’m in year 10, I assume I’m going to start to build up quite the collection!  Wilko do such amazing, but cheap stationary and their folders are no exception.  This one is so pretty, and I am in love with the gold foil writing ‘Hello Lovely’ – plus, it was only £1.25! I’m going to use this for English at the moment, and I’m going to gather myself a collection of pretty folders for each subject, it just helps to make revising that little bit easier!

Revision cards are so useful, however sometimes I find them to be a little small or flimsy feeling, so I like to use these Silvine record cards, which are only £1.00 for 100!  They’re great for writing quotes on to learn, and then I like to stick them onto my wall so I can see them every day and they’ll ingrain in my memory.  I like that they’re a clean white ruled card, and they’re not super flimsy either.

I’m a total highlighter junkie, and Stabilo Boss make the best highlighters.  I love the skinny flash ones, because they’re so easy to fit inside pencil cases, and they’re easier to hold than the fatter chunky ones.  Only, they run out quicker and don’t have as many colour options.  The chunky ones come in huge packs of eight with really interesting colours, and I love them because they’re so vibrant.

On the topic of pens, I love fineliners.  Staedtler do some great ones, and I really like to use these fineliners.  They’re great for mindmaps, or writing notes in my planner.

Finally, possibly the most used out of all my favourites, my planner.  Because all my homework for school is online, I love to keep track of it all in a planner like this cute one from paperchase, and then highlight it when I’m done. It helps me to keep track of everything I’m doing day to day, and I can stay more organised.

So, I hope you all liked these favourites.  I’m planning on doing a whole huge post on revision and how I revise, although I know it’s not very apt considering GCSEs have started (how did they go, by the way, for those of you who’ve been doing them recently?) but better late than never right!  Anyway, I have my Year 10 exams soon, so I’m trying my hardest to start revision for those and get decent grades, which is unlikely but we can pray!

Boux Avenue Haul

A haul from boux avenue featuring some very cute pyjamas and an exciting life update!

Before I get into what is the mains of the post (the very unexciting haul I’ve order online from my fave shop for pyjamas/underwear ever) I just wanted to give you a small life update.  I haven’t posted in a while and I wanted to say that I’m sorry, posts will be a touch more regular now but I’ve been pretty busy and going back to school is never fun; you know, the general excuses!  However, back on the 1st March I sat my Food Technology GCSE exam – it’s actually a VCert, which still counts as a GCSE qualification but the course isn’t the usual GCSE one.  Anyway, they way they mark it is graded by question, and they add up the grades at the end: say if all of my questions were graded merit (roughly a B) but one was a pass (C), then my grade would drop to pass – same happens if all your questions are at distinction (A-A* level) but one is a merit, pass or even a not yet achieved (a D), your grade drops to the lowest.  It is the most unfair grading system ever, but it is what it is; when I came out of the exam hall in March, like everyone else, I was sure I’d failed.  There was a question about allergens and we’d never seen anything like it before.  Anyway, we got our results back yesterday at break and I GOT A DISTINCTION!!!  I was shaking so much, I had mentally prepared myself for a pass at best because of that one bloody question, but apparently my efforts were good enough because I got the best grade you can get!  I am so over the moon and honestly it made me so happy yesterday: if I can get distinction level on all units of coursework now (ones already down as a distinction because the moderators have been in to mark them) then i can get a distinction* as my overall grade!!  So, as you can see things are going pretty well at the moment – I also got an 8 (A*) in my recent geography assesment so fingers crossed I’ve done okay in history and biology too.

Anyway, onto the main part of this post and what you’re all here for – the haul.  Recently I spied that Boux Avenue had a sale and I went to snap up some bargains, along with some non sale items too.  All of which are pyjamas because I literally live in mine so I see no harm in having an extensive wardrobe filled with them.

I got three things overall: a pair of pyjama shorts, some longer pyjama bottoms and a set with an adorable giraffe on the front!

Starting with the shorts.  I got them for eight pounds in the sale, though I think that usually they’re ten or twelve pounds.  They have this gorgeous pink floral design on them and the fabric has a silk look to it, though I’m sure it’s not actually silk!  They’re very glam looking and so comfortable – I love a good pair of pyjama shorts, they’re so comfy to sleep in when the weather gets warmer and Boux Avenue have some amazing ones in stock at the moment (Primark also do really cheap shorts to sleep in which are so cute, but these from Boux are pretty gorgeous!).  The quality is great, they don’t feel cheap or flimsy and the ribbon is really nicely sewn together – I know that sounds like a weird thing to say but sometimes the ribbons made out of this sort of material that is kind of silk like can look really weirdly or sloppily sewn but these arent.  I love the pattern too, it’s really girly and feminine but the dark black background makes it look more sophisticated and less HI-I-AM-A-PINK-FLOWERY-SCENE!  The ribbon is also adjustable and you can pull it tighter to make it fit nicer around the waist, which is always helpful if you’ve got a smaller waist or build in general.

The next pair I got are these long, white polka dot pyjama bottoms.  I’m wearing them now and I can 100% honestly say they’re comfy as heck. These usually retail for £20, however I caught them in the sale at £10 – they have loads of styles so I’d really recommend checking them out!  Anyway, as some of you may know I’m pretty lanky and twig like, and with such height comes a need for long pyjama bottoms.  I’ve had some from Boux Avenue before which are more of a flannel material and they shrunk pretty easily and became three-quarter-length, not ideal for when you’re wanting long cosy pyjamas.  These are made from cotton so they’re not going to shrink in the wash, plus, they’re really long! I love long pyjama pants, and these are so cute with the polka dots.  They’re very spring themed and I love them!

Finally, I got this set of pyjamas for £22.  They’re so comfy and that giraffe is so cute!  They’re a really soft material and have a brushed cotton type feel to them, especially the shorts; they’re so comfy.  I totally love these and they’re really cute for the spring summer time.  Now I can wear seasonal pyjamas *small bouts of excitement*!

Anyway, thats my haul over, it was pretty small but I really love everything I got.  I have a couple of questions for you guys, have you been watching the new PLL series and if so, what do you think of it?  I’m watching the latest episode and I’m loving it so far – also, Riverdale is amazing!  Any other shows I should be watching on Netflix? Also, please leave some post suggestions because I’m lacking inspiration a bit at the moment.

Boxing Day Haul 2016

Hi guys,

Yesterday I went shopping to the Boxing Day sales and picked up a few bits from some of my favourite shops and so I thought I’d show you what I got!  The sales are still well and truly in full swing, so if you’re going to them any point today or tomorrow then make sure to stay tuned until the end as I’ll be giving some of my favourite tips for shopping in the busy boxing day sales!

So first off I headed into the mothership of all shops, my true favourite shop; Topshop.  Topshop sales are always bomb but this time I didn’t find much I wanted, I usually think that the sales progressively get better which is why I love to scout about online afterwards for some sneaky finds. So, I did find this amazing cosy jumper which was down to £22.00 from £36.00 which is quite a good deal if I do say so myself.   It’s not the sort of jumper to make you itch (if anyone gets my refrence here I will marry you), and has gorgeous black flecks of wool blended through.  It fits quite baggily and has a V neck sort of neckline but at the bottom it tapers in.  I describe it badly but you’ll for sure see it very soon!

Next up I went into Victorias Secret PINK and saw that underwear was on sale.  Now, underwear in Victorias Secret Pink is usually £8.00 each, or you can get five for £25.00 as a deal, which is ongoing throughout the year.  But, I never find myself wanting to buy five pairs and theres never any in my size that I like left.  So. when I got there and they were reduced to £4.00 and they had nice ones in size small left over, I was speedy to start searching through them to find the ones I liked.  I only picked up three pairs but I still thought you guys would like to see them (weird as it is showing you my underwear), so here you go!  I love the simplicity of the black pair, the classic look of the pink waistbanded sporty pair but how they’re really femenine with the baby pink and I love the two toned bit of the mauvy/pink pair.

Then I went into tiger and bought an Iphone charger as all mine are broken and dying.  I don’t have a photo but it was only £3.00 and really cute, plus the wire is really long and also flat, it has lovehearts on and I just couldn’t pass it up.

Then I went to Urban Outiftters and got this gorgeous jumper which is pretty much identical to every red/burgundy/wine coloured jumper I already have but it was £15.00 and I really love the slightly different shade!  If you couldn’t tell already, this colour is one of my favourite wintry colours.  It is ribbed quite thickly on the torso and the fabric is nicely sretchy and thick.  It also has LONG ARMS!!  I’m so gangly and lanky so long arms are a must for me!

I then nipped into House of Fraser and as per usual the Benefit counter caught my eye and  ended up buying Roller Lash!  I’m so excited to use this and I’ll for sure be doing a review later.  Can we just take a minute though, the packaging is so amazingly gorgeous!

So, thats all I’ve bought so far in the sales.  I did have my heart set on finding a real techniques blending sponge but I couldn’t find one in all the superdrugs and boots in and around Cabots Circus.  But I’m for sure going to be picking some more things up when I’m out and about.

I did say I’d tell you all some of my tips for when you go shopping in crazy sales like Black Friday or Boxing day, and so here you go:

  1. Always go with an agenda: If you’re going to hit the sales, always do so knowing roughly what you want to buy.  Don’t go shopping just to buy slightly reduced different versions of the beauty sets or necklaces you got for Christmas, go with the want to buy some key and staple peices that will be good for you and your wardrobe. You may even want to establish a list, so say if you’re looking for a jumper, what is your price range and how much of a discount would you like it to have, what colour and what fit does it need to be, and what jeans or skirts or leggings do you want it to go with?  Always ask yourself questions when you think about buying something, does it almost or perfectly fit the criteria.  These are strict rules but they’ll be a good way to ensure you get what you want.  If you’ve wanted something for quite some time, get that and don’t compromise, if it isn’t there dont bother getting something a little below it.
  2. Comfy clothes & bags: You’ll be walking a lot and very fast, and you’ll need to carry quite a bit.  Comfy clotes and flat shoes with a coat that is lightweight and easy to stuff away if you needed to are eseential.  You’re also going to want to have a backpack and make sure it has a lot of room.
  3. If you can’t find what you want, don’t give up: especailly if theres none of your sizes left, theres always online.  Going to the sales to get a feel for the discounts and whats out there is a good idea, even if you cant buy it, because you can always go online.

Thanks for reading everyone, I hope you enjoyed seeing what I bought!  What did you get in the sales?

What I Got For Christmas 2016!

Hi guys,

Are you proud of me for getting a blog post up on Christmas Day?  Nope, probably not considering I failed dramatically on blogmas!  Sorry about that (note to self: never do blogmas again!).  Anyway, today I’m here to do something for you all which I am really looking forward to sharing with you guys; What I Got For Christmas!

Just as a quick disclaimer, I am so greatful for everything I got.  I may have gotten more or less than other people but I still feel so happy and loved, and I am not trying to boast or show off in any way by doing this post.  I’m just sharing what I’ve got with you all!  Christmas is a time for family, no matter how annoying yours may be (*hint hint**cough cough*mine)!

I got this perfume from Coach which I asked for as I was out with my friends and smelt it and really liked it, and so I got my parents/santa to buy it for me for Christmas!  I love this loads, I’ll be wearing it all the time so I’m glad I’ve got the big bottle.

Next up is my new diary and fountain pen.  I’m such a stationary junkie, and this fountain pen was so lovely and I couldn’t just ignore it!  And every year I’ll get a new diary in hopes that it will keep me organised, it never does but lets hope 2017 brings organisation!

After this I opened my pyjamas in a bag from Boux Avenue.  Honestly, Boux do the best pyjamas and when these were on a buy one get one free offer I couldn’t pass down the opportunity and I’m so glad I got them.  I have a blue, red and white checkered set & a navy background with gingerbread men and candy canes set, both of which I love!  Boux does the most amazing giftwrap ever too, so it’s reason enough to get anything from there just for the giftwrapping (which is free at checkout by the way!).

I then got some shared presents for me and my brother, which included a popcorn maker, a jigsaw & board game, and something we’ve both been wanting for ages, which is a little sad that I, a fourteen year old, would want to watch this, we got Ice Age 5!  We’ll be watching Ice Age tonight with yummy homemade popcorn and i’ll be wearing my new pyjamas!  Very excited!

My parents/Santa also gave me £200 pounds as this year I had decided to get £100 worth of presents and £200 cash as I am going to Bristol shopping tomorrow to go and raid the boxing day sales; I’ll be doing a haul if I get much & if you guys want so make sure to leave a comment if you want to see that!

My Grandparents on my Mums side gave me £50 which is amazing and will greatly contribute to my shopping tomorrow, as did my Grandparents on my Dads side.  My Grandparents on my Dads side also got me these!

Too faced is my favourite high end makeup brand so I’m totally delighted with this!!  I got the Love At First Kiss set, which consists of a mini Love Flush blusher in the shade Love Hangover, which I used today – it is perfect – and a mini lipstick in the shade Naked Dolly.  I’ll for sure be wearing that to hell (school, for you normal people who actually enjoy it!) when I go back in the New Year!

They then got me the Merry Kissmas ultimate liquified lipstick set.  This has three melted liquid lipsticks one of which is the melted chocolate ones in the shades Chocolate Honey, Chihuahua and Fig and then what got me most excited and what I’m wearing today is the melted matte in Lady Balls. It is honestly the most perfect bright yet deep red I’ve ever worn!

My Grandma also got me and my Mum an beauty advent calendar to share which of course was a little wrong to give at the end of advent, however I have discovered some amazing brands and products because of it & some I’d like to try more of!  If I could recommend any from here, I’d say the Pixi eyebrow gell is amazing, the eyeliner by eyeko and of course the Burts Bees lipbalm!  I am also really excited to try the Rodial super acids x-treme acid rush peel though it does sound a little harsh, however I will be giving it a go soon & may do a review if I’m liking it.

From my auntie and family I also got £20, which was so nice of them!

Thats all I got for Christmas this year, but I’ll be adding to it tomorrow in the sales I’m sure!  Thank you so much for reading, what did you get for Christmas this year?

If you want to see what I got last year, then click here!

Off to enjoy Christmas Dinner with my family now!  Merry Christmas to all of you, enjoy the rest of the day!

What I Got For My Fourteenth Birthday!

Hi guys!

As a lot of you are aware, yesterday was my birthday and I turned fourteen! I had an amazing day shopping in Bath with my mum, after opening my presents in the morning and all my cards! I really love everything I got and in true tradition, I decided to share it with you!  I’d really like to thank all of you (and yesterday I did a small post but I’ll do it again), I’m so insanely greatful to celebrate my birthday with so many friends on the internet I never expected to make!!  Especially thanks to Alanna who made a post, you’re amazing!!

What i got for my 14th birthday

So, starting with the main present I got, which was from my Mum and Dad.  THEY GOT ME A NEW LAPTOP!!  To be fair, I knew this was coming, because I helped my Mum (and Dad, but really my Mum chooses everything for my birthday!) choose it so she knew the right one.  It’s the best thing ever.  My old laptop was three years old, and while I still use it to play Sims on, I can leave it under my bed now safe in the notion that a brand new, shiny laptop is waiting on my desk to run so fast and not be all old and decrepid!

So yes, there is my laptop thriving with it’s lovely watermelon background – you can get the background on my pinterest, it is linked within my lockscreens board!

Up next are all the presents I got from my friends.  I’m super greatful they got me these and they didn’t have to, but all the presents are so lovely.

I recived this gorgeous notice board full with pictures of my friends and myself!  Its so cute and matches my decor 100%!

I also got this mug, which epitomises me! It also came with Dreamies, my cats favourite treats inside of it!!

Next was two gorgeous bath bombs which I have used already, they smell amazing and made my skin so soft.  Plus, the first one looks like you could eat it!

I also got this owl ornament which looks gorgeous on my dresser and holds my fairylights in place perfectly!

With this also came the Zoella Scrubbing Me Softly body scrub, which is amazing, and a cat teddy because everyone knows I’m obsessed with cats.

I also got this adorable boofle mug which is so cute as I literally collect boofle things, this was perfect!  Plus, I don’t have enough cute mugs anyway!

The nailpolish by Barry M I mentioned in this post comes next, alongside a gorgeous hand cream and shower wash from the body shop!  They are so nice & the hand cream is the perfect size to keep in my school bag.

Last from my friends is a GORGEOUS scrapbooking kit from Cath Kidston.  I can’t wait to start this scrapbook, if you’d like to see any posts about scrapbooking then I’d be more than happy to do some! However, the picture I took won’t upload for whatever reason, and I don’t have enough time to figure it out!! But if I ever do a post on it, you’ll see it then.

A lot of these presents came with chocolate, which I’d show you but it’s currently being digested in my stomach :\

So, up next is the few items I got with my birthday money.  The money I got from family and friends came to a total of £150.00, yet I only spent £30.00 of it yesterday in Bath!  I always save lots of my birthday money for the winter months, as I find buying clothes in August is always quite pointless because A, its never warm anyway, and B, I’d rather wait to buy something nice for winter versus a top I’m going to wear for about five more weeks!

Firstly is this top from Topshop.  It’s one of their cropped vest tops, its ribbed material and really strecthy and comfy.  Alone, this was £6.00 however I got two for £10.00 in a deal. My other one is gray and looks just like this, but I’m wearing it now and I couldn’t be bothered to take pictures to show you.

Jack Wills had a sale on, and while I wanted to spend loads in there on summery tops, I refrained and instead got this gorgeous makeup bag which I am actually going to use as this years pencil case.  It was £6.50, and it is very spacious inside.

In superdrug there was a three for two deal on Aussie products, so I took advantage of it.  I bought a shampoo, conditioner and hair treatment.  I have tested them all out this morning and can 100% say they smell amazing and made my hair so smooth!

I also got this facemask in superdrug, which I again tried today and I found out that I loved it and would definitely repurchase.  I also got these makeup wipes by St. Ives.

I believe that concludes it for everything I got for my birthday! Now the fact that theres money sloshing about in my bank waiting to be spent this winter means lots of hauls, I have a collective summer haul to be going up also at the end of summer when I’ve bought everything, so watch out for that.

Again, one huge thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday, left me comments or tweeted me.  You’re amazing!  Thank you to everyone who got me gifts or money and cards, I appreciate everything.

Love Soph xx

Room Decor Wishlist

Hi guys!

As most of you are aware, I moved down to Wiltshire recently.  If you’re not sure why then go back through my blog posts recently and you’ll find many like One big update and Update explaining it (in detail, I do not recommend them!  I just had to ramble and de-stress myself!).  Anyway, during the move I managed to obtain a huge room and an en suite!  Words cannot express how grateful I am for my room, I’d say I spend 98% of my time in here (the remaining 2% are spent eating tea or foraging for food in an empty fridge, story of my life.).  Anyway, my old room used to be a floraly-vintage, verging on shabby chic but not really getting there, reflection of my eleven year old self trying to copy beauty bloggers styled, but now I fancy a fresh change.  And recently, along with most of the We Heart It & Tumblr population, I’ve fallen in love with the copper and blush and marble type style.  Everything has to be crisp white (which it is at the moment so I have a perfect base) with hints of marble, copper/rose gold and pinky/blushy colours.  You’ll see when I show you everything I’ve been obsessing over at 2am when I have nothing to do!

I’m also planning on doing a room tour when I have finished my room.  However, this wont be in the next few months, because I’m paying for my room myself and I’m not a millionare, I’ll be doing this gradually.  But make sure to comment if you’d like to see a room tour!!

I’m going to stop rambling and we’ll just get into the post properly now.

Home decor wishlist

rose gold paper clip primarni

So, I really love this.  It’s rose gold/copper for a start (if you click the picture you can be lead to where it is sold).  It’s only two pounds, so perfectly on budget.  Not that my maximum budget is two pounds, but I digress. I always write myself notes, whether they’re to remind me to do a blog post, to remind me to do homework, whatever – do you get the jist that they’re usually reminders, I’m very forgetful. Anyway, I figured I could use this to hold up notes and they would look pretty and catch my eye as I leave my room.

copper frame uo

This copper frame is from Urban Outfitters & I really love it.  For £12.00, I think it’s really decent value and so interesting.  I don’t have enough photo frames in my bedroom and I don’t have anything hanging on the walls so hopefully this might make it look more interesting.

geo cage light typo

This is gorgeous.  You probably can’t tell BECAUSE THE QUALITY IS SO BAD but its a rose gold geometric cage light.  And it’s in the sale for £4.99, meaning I can buy two because I have two overhead ceiling lamps.  I mean who doesn’t want rose gold wire diamonds hanging above their head.

copper wire frame ou.jpg

Urban outfiters, you warm my soul.  Why you gotta be so expensive though?  I really want a wire hanging thing like this so I can pin cute quotes to it.  But £40.00, seriously like find me some chicken wire and some spray paint and I’ll turn into a professional DIY-er.  But seriously this is so gorgeous.

h and m cushion

I think we can safely say that H&M Home is amazing.  I literally love everything they have in their ranges.  And it’s really affordable, so that’s a plus!  This cushion would look so nice on my bed, I’m thinking two of these and then maybe some more decorative ones.  I think the key is to vary sizes.

Next up comes Ikea, affordable and addictive.  This is nearly everything out of the Skurar series, which you’ll more than likely have seen everywhere.  I already use the plant pots to house makeup brushes and it’s very effective.  However, I love the whole range and if I could I’d buy it all!  It’s so cheap and pretty and ugh!

Anyway, that’s not the full extent of everything I want but really it’s as much as I could force down your throat without you begging me to stop.

Thanks for reading, I really hope you enjoyed it.   Apologies for not posting all day yesterday.  I’d been shopping into bath (I only got two bits but it was more for a look around bath) so now I can tick something off my Summer Bucket List  already!  I’m also going back to do intense purse damage for my birthday so expect a pretty damn big haul!

Small Haul

So, Yesterday was my brothers birthday.  We went shopping and I picked up just a couple of bits that I needed to grab & splurged out on a couple of tops.  One of the items was in the boxing day sales, but otherwise I found them to be a little bit crap this year – nothing there was my size as all the small sizes had been picked over, and anything that was my size was really ugly.  I have 180 pounds to spend so I decided to buy a couple of nice tops from the full priced section of the shops.

The first thing I got was this phone case in TopShop.  It is so me, because cats that are unicorns yes please.

This was £15.00 but was marked down by half price to £7.50.  I have an Iphone 5c which is so hard to find cases for so I was thrilled when I found this.  It is an insanely bad picture so I do apologise, but this also came with a screen wipe & screen protector.

Next from Topshop I got this cropped jumper.  It’s very tight fitting but I really do love it.  This was £26.00.  The colour looks black here but it is actually green which I’ve never had anything of the colour so I thought I’d try something new.IMG_3457

This next top is a top that everyone has in one colour or another.  Mine is in burnt orangey-red and is from Miss Selfridge.  It is one of those lace up around the boob area tops and I have to say I really do rather love this.  This was £16.00.

This last item was a necessary one, but was free from boots on my advantage card!  It was £3.99 and I had £4.00 on there, so by a stroke of luck I could afford to buy it without actually paying for it.  It also proved seemingly hard to photograph considering the fact that my cat found it very fun to bat about my bedroom floor.

So I apologise for the bad photo, but this is the Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening concealer.  I have used it today and so far found it so good, The application is really easy because of the brush tip, and you get more than enough product out of it in a controlled manner by twisting the end.  It has pretty good coverage & does just what it says, brightens & illuminates.  I got this in the lightest shade which is shade #1 Naked.

So, that is all for my haul but expect a few more as I’m planning on doing (a touch) of internet shopping soon!

Thats all for today but I’ll see you tomorrow with another post!

Bye xx

What I Got For Christmas 2015

Hi guys!

I hope you all had a really nice Christmas & got some lovely gifts, I sure did and I’m here to share them with you today!  I promised I’d get this up on Boxing Day, it’s currently the early hours of the 27th December – I’m still awake & I’ve got to be up at ten to seven.  The things  I go through for you guys!

I had a really great time with my family & ate loads of yummy food, and I’m so thankful for everything I got.

And now I’m going to do the disclaimer that everyone does.

I’m really thankful for all the money & gifts I got this Christmas, and this post is not me trying at brag at all – I completely understand that many are not as fortunate as me & and I very lucky to have shuch a lovely family who give me such lovely gifts.  Thank you to my Grandparents, Mum & Dad and my Auntie, Uncle and Cousins!

So, I’ll stop with all the rambling and show you what I’ve got!

I’ll start first with the money I got.  From my parents I got £150 as I used up half my budget on presents & they gave me the rest in money which is so good because I’m ready to shop!  Thank you so much Mum & Dad!

My Grandparents on my Mum’s side gave me £40 pounds and a couple of gifts, one of which being a box of roses and the others being:

The first picture is not ( I repeat is not) a pair of massive knickers!  It is a turban for your hair when you get out of the bath – my Grandma is a very practical woman and so she gives me practical gifts, which I find so useful! I actually use these all the time, so they’re super useful!  They also got me the gorgeous floral heart notebook up there but not the creative writing book – that was from my Auntie & Uncle!

So now the gifts from my Auntie, Uncle and Cousins are here!!

They got me the new Disney Cinderella which I’d seen in cinemas earlier this year in March I think, and loved to the point that it made me cry, so that was really nice to watch again with my whole family on Christmas Night!  They also got me the ‘Back To Creative Writing School’ book by Bridget Whelan, which I’ve read through a bit already & really love – I’ll be going through all these activities in no time and I’ll be sure to give this a review if you guys would like it?

I’ll go into the gifts that my Grandparent’s on my Dad’s side got me now!

So, my main gift from my Grandparents here is my new leather jacket from Miss Selfridge, which I had picked out separate myself & I love it!  Its so comfortable & I love how the hardware is silver & not gold, because I heavily dislike gold on a leather jacket and couldn’t find a silver one for miles – but then I stumbled across this!

Next, which is another main gift and a surprise that I did not expect, but love!  I hadn’t even mentioned this palette to my Grandma but she got me it and I love it!  It is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette and boy do I adore it!  It has infinite possibilities , and I cannot wait to share some looks with you & review this for you!

The Cherish Perfume from Avon is a lovely flowery sweet scent and is a great size for travelling – not to mention the gorgeous packaging! This whole collection of photos makes me feel ever so pastelly!

I also got this great bag full of Beauticology bits, body creams and hand creams & body washes!  They all smell gorgeous and come in this bag which will be great to use for all my makeup when I go away!

They also got me some chocolate there which I’ve added to my insane level of sweets!!

I also got these two bits from Zoella from them – Bath Bombinis & the Shimmer Dust.

The next presents are ones from my friends at school.

One of my friends, we’ll call her Bertha (she’s not really a Bertha but I need a name so), got me these gorgeous bits from Zoe’s beauty line – Fresh Fizz Fragranced Bath Fizzer & Wonder Hand Hand Cream!  They’re lovely & she knows me so well!

My other friend, lets call her Bertice, got me this amazing pack of makeup brushes which I’ve been using for a couple of days now & absolutely love!  The’re really dense for the face brushes & the eye brushes blend so well!

I think that is all my gifts from family & friends, so I’ll move on to gifts from my parents AKA Santa now!

I got this beautiful tartan scarf which is huge & so warm, it’s made of the furriest yet silkiest dense fabric you’ll ever meet – which  is so hard to explain, you’d need to touch it to get a grip with it, I swear if 4D computing ever came out I’d be in complete heaven; the amount of times I want you to touch or smell something!  It feels almost like cashmere.  I love it so much because the tartan design is so unique, it’s a berry-purple-red with blue, white, grey and there is green and peach mixed in somewhere also!  It goes with so many things and is insanely cosy as I found out today!

It is currently packed away for going to my Grandparents to sleep, so I couldn’t photograph it myself – mind, you’d probably be glad of that considering how bad I photograph things.  I also got this scarf of a similar size, but more neutral & possibly more wearble colours for some.  This scarf is such amazing quality and so cosy too, and I love the wintery-autumn yet perfect transition into spring that it gives!

I also got this top which I adore!  It is so comfy (if you can see there’s a running theme of comfort, warmth and nice feeling fabrics throughout) and I’m completely in love with the double pocket thing.  Not to mention, for the love of God it’s khaki.  Khaki is literally the colour of the soul.  And even though I don’t have lovely olive skin like I wish I do compared to my pale, freckle consumed skin, I will make it work!

I’d run out of my oh so loved No7 skincare (although I do have some of the moisturisers left) by Christmas, and although did feel inclined to get some more and not mess around with my skin and give it the food it does so dearly love, I decided, you know what, lets risk it for a biscuit.  SO I did.  I found all this lovely simple stuff, which is also one of my favourite skin brands as my skin is very sensitive, especially my eyes that can be irritated very easily.  So far this is really good, and leaves my skin feeling tip top perfecto!

Every year my parents give me a bag of chocolate, sweets, popcorn & crisps which usually only last for a week because I tend to substitute all meal I have for these & then some.

I am carrying my love of Friends on into the New Year & many beyond it with this calender. It has all the quotes from the TV series (including January being ‘they don’t know we know they know’, a personal favourite of mine).

I also got these gorgeous, gorgeous, extremely pretty and ugh, they’re so pretty! Well, they’re shoes, if you’ve not guessed already.  And also, can I just say, fricking comfortable ones at that – these heels are pretty tall and I legitimately find them the comfiest things alive, having worn them on Christmas day to test them out.

I also got this Rimmel London Kate lipstick in the shade 30.  This looks way more red on camera than it is, in real life it is a more berry toned purple matte lipstick.  It has the staying power of something with very good staying power (good lord that was the worst attempt at a powerful punchline ever – just no) and is very velvety and smooth!

I also got Lush’s Luxury Lush Pud, which is one of my favourite bathbombs ever – but I cannot currently smell it because I have a blocked nose so I am waiting for that to clear before I use it – I will be sure to review it when I have used it if you would like me to!

I got this Real Techniques deep cleansing gel for makeup brushes, which I’m sure I’ll love.  I always washed my brushes – very rarely, with mild shampooed water.  I’m excited to try this as I’m hoping I’ll see a change in the quality of my skin as less bacteria will be transferred hopefully.  Once I’ve established a makeup brush cleansing routine I’m going to share it with all of you definitely!

My last present, and one of my favourites, is this gorgeous little trinket box I picked out with my Mum in the Corn Exchange in Leeds.  It’s so beautiful, and matches the theme of my bedroom so well.  I really do love it, yet I just don’t know what to keep inside of it.  I’m thinking some sort of DIY (post) where I’ll write nice things that happened to me, places I’ve been, people I’ve met over the course of 2016 and look back on it whenever I feel down etc.  I’m thinking that could be a good idea although I’m not sure!

So, that is my Christmas haul over!  And although weather-wise it did not feel at all like Christmas on the 25th, I still had a very festive day enjoying family time with my great family!  Thank you to everyone who bought something for me, I am very grateful for it & love all my gifts!

I hope that you are all safe and well, especially if your area has been struck by the recent flooding.  I know that areas around me have, and although I am safe and so are my whole family, which I am very lucky for, some are not.  My Grandad’d friend’s house has been flooded and a few of my close friends know of people who’s areas have been flooded.  It is so horrible for this to happen so soon after Christmas, and I hope you are all doing well & are safe and okay!  I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and shared some wonderful memories with your friends and family.

It is my brothers birthday on the 28th December and so tomorrow we are heading down to Lincolnshire to stay at my Grandparents house where we tend to go each year for his Birthday.  On his birthday he and I are going to Gravity in Castleford, a place full of trampolines and foam pits you can bounce into and I’m sure he’ll love it.

You will most likely see me tomorrow, although depending on when I get to my Grandparents I’m not sure.

I’m rambling far too much now, so I’ll be off.

Bye x

Winter (Sort Of) Haul!!

Right I know I said I’d get this up on Saturday night but I forgot.  But I’m doing it now, so don’t kill me, okay?

Okay, so while we’re technically still in Autumn, and I guess we will be for a while….THE CLOCKS TURNED BACK AT 2:00 AM THE OTHER NIGHT (or so Google told me). Anyway, so this is a Winter haul, but really it’s an Autumn haul. A/W we’ll call it form now on.

Anyway, I’m super festive and (It’s nearing the end of October which is when I allow myself to post Christmas posts on here, excitement) currently listening to Boney M Mary’s Boy Child (one of the best songs for Christmas).  I got me some baubles, exciting or what?!!!

*Whispers about Christmas*

Anyway, I guess I’ll just show you all everything that I’ve got.

I got this oversized jumper for £10.00, it’s a soft grey colour and has a dark silvery zip right down the back until about half way.  The fabric is super soft & this is really easy to wear.  It is long so it covers your bum and for a tenner this was a steal.  It’s sort of a bat wing, sort of not. I can’t explain very well but I have a picture of me wearing it, except wordpress is being awkward and not letting me post it, but I’ll try get one in for you later.  I’m wearing this jumper now & it is seriously the comfiest thing on earth.

Then I got this wine coloured, burgundy ish top.  It’s got like ribbing detail all over it, which you can’t see because I take shitty photos.  Anyway, one thing you can (kind of) see from the photo is that it has a longer back than the front so it covers the booty, and it has slits down the side, small ones but they add a decent bit of something.  I’ve worn this one too already and it’s super comfy & easy to wear. Oh and it was £6.00, which is really good!

Then my Mum bought me some touch screen gloves because she was buying my brother some and just decided to buy me some, thank youuu.  These were £1.50 I  believe and having tried out my brothers I know they work!  I’ve never had touch screen gloves before but they are now one of my essentials for winter, no more cold phone fingers anymore!  Plus, I’m loving this colour right now.

Lastly, I got these mini baubles for £2.00.  To be honest I don’t think you can go wrong with these for a couple of quid, and they had so many colour options.  Personally I want my tree in my room to have sort of a white/pink/blue theme this year, which is quite different from my regular ‘LOADS OF SPARKLES & GLITTER AND GOLD AND RED AND ALL COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW’, which, while festive, didn’t look as good as it could’ve done. Anyway, these are perfect for a small tree or just as filler baubles for your bigger tree! Primark had some great Christmas stuff this year, and I even spotted rose gold tinsel which I got a little too excited about & will definitely be nipping back to replace my tinsel with this year! Exciting much!!!

I needed a new concealer & I stuck with my fave, Rimmel’s hide the blemish concealer. It’s £3.99, and although it doesn’t last me long because sometimes I prefer to just go to school with concealer on, meaning I have to use more to get a decent coverage, it has a really great amount of product and is still my favourite, even though I raved about the NO7 one in my review a long time ago (check it out here, although it snapped a few days later, very disappointed I was).  Anyway, yes I got that.  And boots also have an amazing selection of Christmas gifts this year.  If you’re from the UK, you’ll be familiar with what I’m talking about, but otherwise it is basically a section of boots full brimming of massive huge boxes of beauty stuff that you can wrap up for Christmas.  Don’t even get me started on how excited I am!

Okay, so for those of you who aren’t familiar with Leeds (where I go shopping), and I’m assuming that most of you aren’t, it has a big building called ‘Leeds Corn Exchange’.  It’s a weird name, and I never thought to go into it because I thought it’d be like a huge building full of tea rooms and old people.  My Mum took me in and it is now my favourite place in Leeds.

It’s basically a huge, 3 tier hall with a hippy market thing on the bottom, and the next two wrap around balconies and full of cute little shops.  they have super unique pieces of jewellery, bedroom stuff & clothing. It’s gorgeous, and if you’re ever nearby for whatever reason you need to pop in.

I only bought two things, but I’m going back when I go see Zoella (Friday btw omg!!!) and I’m going to do some very serious damage,  anyway, I’ll stop with my rambling & show you what I bought.

That’s right, I bought an incense burner.  I’ve had one before from when I went on holiday, and I’ve loved it.  I’ve never found a place to buy replacement sticks and mine were tiny anyway and fit only that diffuser.  Besides, they were floral and I didn’t adore the scent.

So, I got this new incense burner which is this pretty wood & has gold stars and a butterfly on it.  And the sticks are cinnamon scented & smell just like Christmas (there’s a running Christmas theme here?).  Anyway, the holder cost £1.50 and the sticks £1.30.

Okay, so that’s the end of my haul!  Sorry it came up so late, I didn’t intend on it but I just never got around to it. Be prepared for a particularly bloggish day today, I’m going to be making up for my lack of posting.  One will be -gasp, Christmas themed, because I want your guys opinion on my Christmas posts.
