What I Got For My 15th Birthday!

So, if you didn’t know, on the 8th of August 2017 I turned 15.  For the day, me, my mum and my brother went to Bristol to do some shopping and we also visited a cat cafe, which was so lovely!  All the cats were so cute, and the kittens there were absolutely gorgeous; I could’ve 100% taken them all home with me.  Judging by the picture below, I’m pretty sure that you can tell how cute all the cats were and that I was in crazy cat lady heaven!

Anyway, in the morning I opened all of my cards and presents.  A lot of my relatives gave me money, which is great as I really love to buy myself my own bits on my birthday: I’m pretty bad a surprises, however the ones I did get this year were so amazing and totally perfect for me!

My Grandma got me some face masks from Superdrug, and a hair mask!  I have a massive obsession with the little face masks that come in packets; they’re really convenient and always make my skin feel super soft, so I really can’t wait to use these. I’ve been waiting to take pictures for this post before using them, so now I have I can have myself a lovely little pamper session! You can expect reviews of these, or maybe even a spa night post, I haven’t decided!

I also got a huge surprise from my brother, which I totally didn’t expect but absolutely love and have wanted forever!  He got me the Friends box set!  This is such a great thing to get me, because now I can catch up on all the episodes and my favourite bits before I go to Friends Fest in Oxford on the 24th – I’m so excited! I’ve already watched most of season 1, and I’m so happy to be watching it again.  Have you seen Friends, it’s clearly one of my favourites!

friends and pandora

As you can tell in the picture above, I also bought myself a pandora ring with my birthday money!  I’ve wanted one for ages, and when I saw this I thought it was so pretty!  It was £35, and I’ve worn it every day since!

I also bought myself the Urban Decay Naked palette, and now I kind of want to collect all of them.  I can tell this will be my palette of choice over autumn and winter; it has so many gorgeous shimmery shades and some great cool toned mattes, so it’s pretty much perfect!  This was £39.50, and because it was my birthday, the lady serving me gave me some free samples which was amazing; I got the primer potion and perversion mascara, both of which I have tested and can say I really like!

muchnaked

And the final thing I received from all my friends the day after my birthday.  This was such a lovely surprise, and I can’t wait to get some gorgeous pictures with it!  They got me the Instax Mini 8 polaroid camera in white, which is so pretty and looks so beautiful in my room. They also got me some fairy lights and pegs so that I could hang up some pictures I take, and some cool camera lenses to go with it!  They’re so generous and this was such a special present; thank you to all of you, if you’re reading this!

Ok so thats everything I got for my birthday!  I still have loads of birthday money left to spend, so I’m thinking I might buy another ring or some more makeup, or save it until all the autumnal clothes come out in shops (I am really excited for autumn if you couldn’t tell!)

Also, thank you for 100 instagram followers!  Make sure you’re following me over there, im @lovesophblog_

My Holy Grail Face Mask

My skin is naturally quite dry, but certain factors can make it a lot drier; cold weather being the main one, which is why I’m looking forward to summer so much!  As you can imagine, the UK in February isn’t exactly boiling so my skin tends to get a lot drier, especially if I’m trying out any new skincare products which my face might disagree with a little.  At this point, I pull out my favourite face mask to tend to the issue.

The Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Mask is amazing, and at only £2.95 it’s a total bargain.  I love everything about this mask, from the packaging to the way it makes your skin so soft and moisturised.  This mask just really does it for me.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Starting with the actual application of the mask, it at first had me a little confused: it says to massage it onto a cleansed, dry face and allow it 10-15 minutes to quench the skin, patting the remaining residue off with a tissue.  I decided I didn’t like those rules, so adapted it a little to meet my needs.  I apply it either quite thinly as a normal face mask or a little thicker and let it sit on my skin for as long as I can keep it on for (usually ends up being about an hour because I literally have nothing to do with my life other than sit with face masks on and stare at a computer screen) and then I tend to just wash it off or wipe away any of the residue with micellar water.  It does absorb really nicely into the skin and leaves it feeling so soft and supple and left my complexion looking so glowy and fresh.  It doesn’t have a super thick or super thin formula so it moisturises amazingly without clogging up your skin, making it oily or feel heavy.  It smells really nice but isn’t so scented that it will irritate your skin.

I love the packaging, it’s really sleek and the actual size of the product makes it nice and travel friendly – I use this a good three times a week so I’d need it if I were to be away from home!  It’s great value as a little definitely goes a long way so it will last for ages; I’m sure you could get at least ten masks out of this which is amazing for £2.95!  Superdrug also have a de-stressing aloe vera mud mask and a cucumber peel off mask that I’d love to try out and intend on doing so, if they’re anything like this one I’m sure I’ll love it!

Lypsyl Valentines Day Lip Balms

img_3850

With Valentines day coming up, what better time than to grab an amazing lip balm which not only smells divine but does an amazing job! Lypsyl have very kindly sent me their new valentines releases – two beautiful lip balms perfect for Valentines day!  The first, ‘Uplifting strawberry and pomegranate’ is the one I’m going to talk about now, and I’ll do the next one later in the post.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Strawberry and pomegranate is the most amazing scent combination which is fruity and fun and always remains smelling great, even whilst it’s on your lips!  As soon as you pull off the lid you get a sniff of this scent, which I personally love however I imagine some who are not into very strong scents don’t.  It does remind me a lot of spring and summer, which makes me very excited for the upcoming seasons.  The packaging is a pretty reddish pink colour, again perfect for Valentines day.

“Who needs Cupid when you have Lypsyl’s luxurious lip balms? Pucker up with Lypsyl’s uplifting Strawberry and Pomegranate, your smooth and soft lips will be the perfect gift for your Valentine’s date.”

This lip balm also contains SPF15, which is very important all year round as our lips can get burnt and using a nice, protective lip balm can obviously help that not happen!  It is made with aloe vera, vitamin E and avocado oil which does all sorts of wonderful for your lips.  This lip balm is intensely moisturising, which of course is perfect for February as it is very cold – I’ve been putting lip balms to the test recently and cannot wait to fully try these out and battle them against the elements.  The packaging is also really sturdy and compact, which is perfect to grab and throw in your handbag before you leave the house.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

The cherry and almond lip balm has a slightly more subtle fragrance but nonetheless still smells wonderful.  It is a much more natural scent for anyone who doesn’t like super fruity scented things, and personally I much prefer the darker red colouring of this lip balm and think it is much more suited to Valentines day.

“Roses are red, violets are blue, Lypsyl Cherry and Almond will revitalise you! The delicately scented SPF lip balm will gently hydrate and soothe your lips for an ultra-kissable pout.”

As with the other lip balm, this is too made with SPF15 and contains aloe vera, vitamin E and avocado oil.  I do find this one slightly more moisturising, and whether or not that is down to the almond part of it I do not know, however it does seem a lot more moisturising.  Again, the packaging is really nice and sturdy whilst still being small enough to put anywhere for maximum convenience.  I think this is a great lip balm and they’ve totally convinced me to rekindle the love I had for Lypsyl’s products way back in primary school; does anyone remember the lip balm they had that was raspberry scented or something and was a purple colour and used to smell (and taste!) divine?  Everyone had one of these I seem to remember!

Neither of these lip balms are tinted, so they sit on the lips really nicely and lightly, you hardly notice they’re there.  They also don’t have the nasty tingling sensation that some others do.

You can buy Strawberry And Pomegranate from here , for only £1.89 along with Cherry And Almond here.  I’d really recommend picking one of these up if you’re looking for an affordable, super moisturising and great smelling lip balm to make your lips ultra soft for Valentines day!

Drugstore Starter Makeup Kit

The drugstore, or places more commonly known in the UK such as Boots or Superdrug, are the perfect places to get amazing quality makeup for a fraction of the price of some higher end brands.  Makeup from the drugstore is perfect for starting out with and even as you build your collection, these pieces are great things to have in your collection.  I’ve compiled all the products I’d put into a starter kit for someone who is starting out in makeup and wondering what to buy, and I honestly can say some of these products are my favourites!

img_3781

FOR THE FACE

The first thing you’ll want is a good foundation or BB/CC cream. Personally, I’ve always opted for foundations and BB/CC creams do not give lots of coverage, and I like to use foundation when I do want that coverage, but I don’t wear it daily.  The foundation I would recommend is the Rimmel Match Perfection (mine is in shade 100 Ivory, though this is sometimes a bit dark for my very pale skin).  Whilst the colour choices on this I don’t feel are 100% amazing, they’re pretty good but it is the formula I like the most: it is very lightweight but still provides good, buildable coverage with a smooth application.  It’s easy to work with, which I find is great in foundation as I’m not very skilled with it and when it is easy to apply I can be quick and not worry about it being patchy or cakey.  However, if you want to opt for a BB/CC cream, the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream is supposed to be really good.

Concealer is a really important part of the face makeup, as you can do so many things with it: cover up blemishes, pigmentation issues in the skin or dark spots, cover up how little sleep you get, and even highlight!  I have a few which I love, but the one I use mostly is the Seventeen Stay Time, which claims to last for 18 hours, though I can’t say I’ve worn it for that long however the longevity is really good.  The formula is very creamy, full coverage without being too thick and very brightening – the palest shade is actually pale for once, so it’s a good match to my skin!  I’d recommend this because it is such a bargain and is very comparable to other higher end concealers.  You also have probably heard about the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer as it is raved about everywhere, and I love this too.  I use it often I just find it a little thick for some areas of my face.

For powder, you can’t go wrong with the Rimmel London Stay Matte, I have used this for as long as I can remember and it never fails to impress me.  It keeps oil at bay and stops makeup from shifting around and gives a nice, matte finish.  Even the shade translucent, which has no colour to it, still ups the coverage on your face a little which I really like.  The powder doesn’t go cakey either or make your skin feel dry, which is great.  I’d recommend this to anyone: makeup collector or not!

Finally, blusher and bronzer/contour.  These steps for the face are just as important as anything else.  I personally cannot contour for the life of me, but when I do I like to use the L’oreal Glam Bronze Duo, which also comes with a highlight though I used that but don’t actually like it too much, however the bronzer is wonderful.  It’s quite cool toned which makes it really good for contour and it is matte so it doesn’t have any shimmer, creating that nice shadowy effect.  However, if you’re looking for more of a bronzed, summertime look then I often use the Rimmel Natural Bronzer which is more warm toned and has a shimmer to it, giving a nice sunkissed glow – it compliments a slight tan in summer really nicely, and even works for those of you (like me) who don’t tan!!  Blusher is hard to come by in the drugstore, at least for me, but in Superdrug the amazing value Makeup Revolution has some wonderful blushes! I recommend their Baked Blusher in the shade Make Love Instead, however I am not sure they carry this shade anymore but a very similar one is linked.  These are nice and creamy, have a subtle shimmer to them and blend really nicely.  The shade is a light pink which gives a really pretty glow.  Both the bronzer and blusher are swatched below.

FOR THE EYES

Eyes are a really important part of your makeup, and missing them out can make you look totally unfinished.  Even the littlest bit of mascara can change your look from boring to fresh eyed and awake, which is always a good thing!  As for mascaras, I head to the queen of drugstore mascaras: Maybelline.  They have great formulas which add length, volume and are beautifully dark and black, creating the perfect set of lashes!  My first choice is Lash Sensational, the purple-y bottle which is well loved as you can see.  The wand on this is amazing, it always adds great length to my eyelashes and the more coats you get, the more length.  This doesn’t go clumpy or make your eyelashes stick together, but you can get a flawless, fresh and awake look from this by making your eyelashes long and fluttery. However, if you’re not looking for major length and would prefer to opt for more volume, then Great Lash is your mascara!  This wand is a lot chunkier and much more bristle-y which means every lash gets a heavy helping of mascara, creating a big and voluminous effect, and you can still easily achieve length with this – the packaging is also really fun!  I’d recommend a light hand when applying this mascara as the formula is very wet and so can be quite sticky and easy to clump your lashes together with.

As for eyeshadow, quads/mini palettes are where it’s at. This one is from Rimmel in the shade Brixton Brown, and is the Glam Eyes HD.  Mine is heavily used, which is why the swatches aren’t the best but the middle coppery shade is beautiful as is the shimmery cream/white.  The formula of these eyshadows is great and they’re easy to blend, but the fallout is quite substantial but not a major issue.  This five pan palette can easily take you from day to night and I swear by the dark brown shade for my eyebrows, so you’re killing two birds with one stone here!

img_3787

There isn’t a shimmery purple in the palette which is odd as it looks like it here, that shade is infact the darker matte browny/black.

On a final note for eyes, you’ll need liner.  Well, you don’t need liner, because  my god that stuff is hard!  But if you do want to venture into the world of liners, then the Seventeen High Drama one is really good and I find it relatively easy to apply.

img_3785

FOR THE LIPS

For your lips, you can find some amazing quality lipsticks for absolute bargain prices! I’m going to show you two of my favourites today: a more natural, everyday lipstick and a matte lip which is perfect for summer.  Starting with the Collection Lasting Colour lipstick in the shade rosewood.  This is perfect for everyday wear and is super creamy and stays on really well, which I love.  It is a ‘my lips but a lot better’ sort of a colour, and it’s super cheap whilst not suffering in quality.  I’d love to try some other colours from this range.  Next up is a matte lip favourite, the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Milan.   These are the best drugstore matte liquid lipstick I’ve tried, and they’re really well priced too.  They’re super matte meaning they can be quite drying so make sure to have a good lipbalm on hand for when you’ve taken this off.  This colour is a bright barbie pink type colour but the packaging does make it look more neutral, so be sure to swatch this before you buy it, however I think it’s really fun for the summer, plus it smells divine!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette Review

Well my God am I excited to be writing this post!  I’d been waiting just under a week for possibly the most exciting thing I ever ordered to arrive and when it did I just knew I’d love it as soon as I opened the box.  It is, if you hadn’t figured, The Too Faced Sweet Peach palette!  This was limited edition in the Summer and I had one reserved at Debenhams to buy with my birthday money, but it sold out and my reservation no longer existed, so I sat lusting over everyone else’s palettes whilst I remained peach-less, until the joyous day in December when I found out that Debenhams were in fact restocking along with the launch of the Sweet Peach Collection – and it’s there to stay!  If you want to buy this palette from Debenhams, click here – it’s £39.00 very well spent in my opinion.

Anyway, I decided that like my Chocolate Bar Palette Review, I would review yet another amazing palette brought to us on this earth by the Gods from Too Faced!  I’ve got everything; swatches, packaging and actual eye shadow photos – and don’t doubt that I’ll be creating a look or two with this palette soon! So, lets get into it I guess.

img_3735

So, as you can see, the palette doesn’t look dissimilar to the other larger ones that Too Faced have out, such as the Chocolate Bar series. It has eighteen shades in it, all to do with peaches or being very peachy toned or generally quite neutral.  I love how it incorporates pops of colour into this quite daytime, neutral palette – shades such as candied peach and just peachy are a welcomed pop of bright almost neon pink and slightly shimmery less neon pink.  The green shade, bless her heart, is really nice as it does still fit into the peach theme, without being too neutral.

As always, the shadows are amazingly easy to blend and highly pigmented.  The shimmery ones are more pigmented than the mattes but only slightly, yet they both blend really nicely and easily.  They have a professional finish to them which I think helps this palette to appeal to everyone: you definitely don’t have to be a pro makeup artist to use this – look at me, I’m not good at makeup at all and even I have still found it easy to create looks with.  You can always follow the mini beauty leaflet to tell you about how to create specific looks.

The packaging is as always very gorgeous, heavy duty and luxurious.  I especially love how soft the peachy gradient is and the peach indents on the lid.  The palette itself smells so lovely, like a really summery smoothie – it reminds me of holidays.

Onto the actual eyeshadow swatches and shades now, I’m doing it in blocks of six going downwards.  Here’s a picture of the palette inside so that you can compare the swatches to the shadows in pan.

img_3729

Okay so starting with the first section, we have the neutrals.  From bottom to top we have white peach, then nectar, then peaches n cream, then luscious, then cobbler, then georgia. Out of all these shades, luscious is undoubtedly my favourite.  It’s a gorgeous champagne-silver colour which is so shimmery and the shimmer is really thick on the lid so the colour payoff is great.  As you can see, the shades are visible under both bad lighting and no flash (rip my non-existent photography skills) or under flash, even the lighter ones such as white peach are just visible on my very pale skin, but show up great on a well primed eyelid (I like to use Benefit’s stay don’t stray, which you can find a mini review on here in my high end makeup collection post).

Onto the next six, we have the more peachy shades in the palette.  From bottom to top here we have just peachy, then candied peach, then caramelised, then bless her heart, then bellini, and finally puree.  From this section, and actually from the whole palette, similar to other lovers of this palette, my favourite shade is bellini.  This is a beautiful shade of pink shimmer which looks amazing packed onto the eyelid with a look really centralised around the more peach shades in this palette.  I also love the two shades just peachy and candied peach and they’re probably the most used shades for my transition colours on my eye!

Onto the last section, where the palette goes into darker colours which I do feel may slightly slip away from the peachy theme – nonetheless they are still really nice & I actually use these a lot, even though some of these darker shades may seem a little unwearable.  From bottom to top here we have got talk derby to me, then peach pit, then summer yum, then charmed i’m sure, then delectable and finally tempting.  This part of the palette houses my favourite matte shade in the palette, summer yum, which I often wear in my crease as it’s really nice and warm – I’m already in the mood for spring, winter is starting to annoy me, so I’m pulling out my warmer toned eyeshadows which usually consist of brighter shades, but if found this matte colour to work really nicely.  In my swatches, tempting and talk derby to me both look very similar, and whilst they are not on total opposite ends of the colour spectrum, they still do have significant differences.

So, there goes the whole palette over view.  I really love this palette, I think it’s easily  a match to the original Chocolate Bar palette, which I have and which is and will remain well loved!  The shadows in formula and pigmentation are lovely and I think this is for sure a great staple to have in your makeup collection!

Bee Good Review

Recently I was sent some amazing products by Bee Good, a company which is against animal testing, and as the name suggests, helps British bees, using British honey, propolis and beeswax in all their products.  Their products are super natural, really well priced and suitable for many skin types – they have lots of ranges for both sensitive and normal skin.

I was sent two wonderful products from Bee Good.  The honey & propolis cleanser, which you can purchase here, and the raspberry and white chocolate lip balm, which you can purchase here.  I’ve been using both these products for almost a week now and thought it was the right time for me to do a review on them having seen the (wonderful) effect they’ve had on my skin.

img_3680

Starting with the Raspberry & White Chocolate Lip Balm, I have really enjoyed using this product! I’ve had a horrible cold this week, and I’ve been in desperate need of a intensely moisturising lipbalm – this really hit the spot! The smell of this, as you can imagine from reading the name, is amazing.  It smells so yummy and if it weren’t a lipbalm I’d have already eaten it all – whoops!  It’s a super strong smell which is great because I’ve been able to smell it through a blocked nose, yet when it goes on your lips it doesn’t smell too strong.  Personally I really like this as it doesn’t seem as sickly, however if you wanted a strong scent on the lips you might not love this product.  It always makes my lips super soft, and whilst it’s on, it gives a glossy look which is always a huge plus.  It isn’t a sticky lip balm as well which is great, because the wind, long hair and lip balms never mix well!

Another thing I adore about this product is the packaging. Not only is the design subtle yet very pretty and fresh, but the fact that it is a squeezy tube of lip balm makes it perfect to go in your school bag or handbag.  Also, tub lip balms are such a pain because it always ends up all over your fingers, and you have nowhere to put it!  This tube ensures you haven’t got this issue.

img_3703

Next up I was sent the 2-in-1 Honey & Propolis Cream Cleanser.  This came with a muslin cloth, which I thought was a really nice touch.  I was really intrigued about this product – I’d never tried a cream cleanser prior to this, and I’m really glad I got the chance to test one out.  Basically, you apply this to dry skin and it claims to remove all your makeup and cleanse your skin at the same time.  Whilst I’ve never done this whilst using it, and always removed my makeup first, I really do think it would remove all your makeup.  It is extremely powerful and still remains natural and gentle enough for the most sensitive of skin.  It has always left my skin feeling extremely clean and removed any remaining traces of makeup.  This smells amazing whilst still managing to be filled with skin loving natural ingredients.  My skin can get quite dry and sensitive during January as the temperatures get even colder, and this had managed to keep it super moisturised and not irritate it, which is such a godsend! The muslin cloth it comes with is slightly scratchy, and I found it increases redness and irritates my skin a little, but i’m sure on normal skin this would be fine.  Using this with just a regular flannel will work just fine.

I haven’t found that this cleanser really clears up my skin much, as my spots are still quite prevalent, however it does increase the moisture in my skin and stops it from feeling so dry.  However, I may stand corrected after using this for longer than a week or so!   It’ super natural though, so I doubt it will create any further spots – my skin seems to have reacted well to this, which is always great!

img_3684

Thank you so much to Bee Good for sending me out these products to test out – I’ve really enjoyed using them.  I urge you all to go check them out, they have some amazing and affordable skincare especially for those of you who have more sensitive and dry skin as these are all really gentle and natural.

Boxing Day Haul 2016

Hi guys,

Yesterday I went shopping to the Boxing Day sales and picked up a few bits from some of my favourite shops and so I thought I’d show you what I got!  The sales are still well and truly in full swing, so if you’re going to them any point today or tomorrow then make sure to stay tuned until the end as I’ll be giving some of my favourite tips for shopping in the busy boxing day sales!

So first off I headed into the mothership of all shops, my true favourite shop; Topshop.  Topshop sales are always bomb but this time I didn’t find much I wanted, I usually think that the sales progressively get better which is why I love to scout about online afterwards for some sneaky finds. So, I did find this amazing cosy jumper which was down to £22.00 from £36.00 which is quite a good deal if I do say so myself.   It’s not the sort of jumper to make you itch (if anyone gets my refrence here I will marry you), and has gorgeous black flecks of wool blended through.  It fits quite baggily and has a V neck sort of neckline but at the bottom it tapers in.  I describe it badly but you’ll for sure see it very soon!

img_3639

Next up I went into Victorias Secret PINK and saw that underwear was on sale.  Now, underwear in Victorias Secret Pink is usually £8.00 each, or you can get five for £25.00 as a deal, which is ongoing throughout the year.  But, I never find myself wanting to buy five pairs and theres never any in my size that I like left.  So. when I got there and they were reduced to £4.00 and they had nice ones in size small left over, I was speedy to start searching through them to find the ones I liked.  I only picked up three pairs but I still thought you guys would like to see them (weird as it is showing you my underwear), so here you go!  I love the simplicity of the black pair, the classic look of the pink waistbanded sporty pair but how they’re really femenine with the baby pink and I love the two toned bit of the mauvy/pink pair.

img_3642

Then I went into tiger and bought an Iphone charger as all mine are broken and dying.  I don’t have a photo but it was only £3.00 and really cute, plus the wire is really long and also flat, it has lovehearts on and I just couldn’t pass it up.

Then I went to Urban Outiftters and got this gorgeous jumper which is pretty much identical to every red/burgundy/wine coloured jumper I already have but it was £15.00 and I really love the slightly different shade!  If you couldn’t tell already, this colour is one of my favourite wintry colours.  It is ribbed quite thickly on the torso and the fabric is nicely sretchy and thick.  It also has LONG ARMS!!  I’m so gangly and lanky so long arms are a must for me!

img_3641

I then nipped into House of Fraser and as per usual the Benefit counter caught my eye and  ended up buying Roller Lash!  I’m so excited to use this and I’ll for sure be doing a review later.  Can we just take a minute though, the packaging is so amazingly gorgeous!

img_3643

So, thats all I’ve bought so far in the sales.  I did have my heart set on finding a real techniques blending sponge but I couldn’t find one in all the superdrugs and boots in and around Cabots Circus.  But I’m for sure going to be picking some more things up when I’m out and about.

I did say I’d tell you all some of my tips for when you go shopping in crazy sales like Black Friday or Boxing day, and so here you go:

  1. Always go with an agenda: If you’re going to hit the sales, always do so knowing roughly what you want to buy.  Don’t go shopping just to buy slightly reduced different versions of the beauty sets or necklaces you got for Christmas, go with the want to buy some key and staple peices that will be good for you and your wardrobe. You may even want to establish a list, so say if you’re looking for a jumper, what is your price range and how much of a discount would you like it to have, what colour and what fit does it need to be, and what jeans or skirts or leggings do you want it to go with?  Always ask yourself questions when you think about buying something, does it almost or perfectly fit the criteria.  These are strict rules but they’ll be a good way to ensure you get what you want.  If you’ve wanted something for quite some time, get that and don’t compromise, if it isn’t there dont bother getting something a little below it.
  2. Comfy clothes & bags: You’ll be walking a lot and very fast, and you’ll need to carry quite a bit.  Comfy clotes and flat shoes with a coat that is lightweight and easy to stuff away if you needed to are eseential.  You’re also going to want to have a backpack and make sure it has a lot of room.
  3. If you can’t find what you want, don’t give up: especailly if theres none of your sizes left, theres always online.  Going to the sales to get a feel for the discounts and whats out there is a good idea, even if you cant buy it, because you can always go online.

Thanks for reading everyone, I hope you enjoyed seeing what I bought!  What did you get in the sales?

Garnier Micellar Water Review

Hi guys,

12th December!

Sorry I didn’t blog over the weekend; I was at a sleepover where I got around half an hour of sleep at about 7am, and then was tired all of Sunday so I slept on the sofa and had a mental breakdown about my biology which I think *touch wood* went okay, and my English which was a creative writing mock GCSE assessment and considering I wrote about talking gorillas that didn’t go as well as I’d hoped.  Anyway, I’m not here to rant today, I am here to continue blogmas as I should do!

Whilst today’s post isn’t very Christmassy, I still wanted to do it for you.  I recently bought the Garnier Micellar Water and I thought I’d do a little review because I really rather like this product and I guess that I’ll add to all the reviews online raving about it for you!

img_3568

Okay, so firstly packaging.  I got the pink one, which is the on the go size, even though I’m sure they do the big one in pink, but I swear there are other colours.  Anyway, aside from the different colours thing, I really like the packaging.  It’s really pretty and its also very sturdy.  I had it crammed into a washbag this weekend and to my surprise it didn’t burst or leak!

The formula is really nice.  It’s very powerful but also soothing and cooling, so I think it would be totally fine for sensitive skin.  I have quite dry skin in the winter time and I found it to be really quite moisturising and not drying like some all in one/all over makeup removers can be.  It really cleans your face, which makes it great for travel and for those of us who despise skincare routines and want things over and done with very quickly.  It removed all my face makeup with barely a few swipes, and my eye makeup came off so easily with this, no rubbing or horrible oily solution in your eyes which prevents you from seeing properly.  I had lots of mascara on too which came off with ease, and to that I was so very happy.

I only got the 125ml bottle, which wont last me ages but will last me a long enough time, and next time I will be buying the large bottle – this makeup remover is wonderful. Anyone looking for a refreshing, quick makeup remover should totally go for it.  If you’re doubtful, get the smaller size like I did.

My Perfect Christmas Red

Hi guys,

6th December

Everyone has their perfect Christmas red.  It’s the lipstick you always go to around this time of year, it screams festivity.  You wear it throughout December at any chance you get, because if you can’t wear bright red at Christmas, when can you?  Today I’m here to share with you my perfect Christmas lipstick!

This here is my favourite lipstick!  It’s Kiko Milano’s lipstick in shade 811, a high shine berry red, which means it has pinky undertones which suit me more, as a harsh red just makes my skin look very pale and washed out.  I love the formula, it’s very glossy and the application is so easy.  Plus, Kiko have amazing makeup; they are not raved about in the beauty world enough!

This isn’t a good swatch as it makes the lipstick appear very sheer which it is not.  It’s actually a very bold colour with great pigmentation.  Plus, the great thing about high shine lipsticks, which we are using less and less often with most of us preferring matte liquid lipsticks, is that they don’t leave your lips feeling dry!

This lipstick doesn’t stay on as well as I’d like it to, and does transfer a little when you’re eating/drinking, but all in all it’s not a hugely inconvenient thing to reapply it every once in a while and it’s a small price to pay for something which completes a festive makeup look perfectly!

I really hope you enjoyed this post – what is your favourite lipstick for the Christmas time? Let’s have a chat in the comments!
