Liebster Award – Tag Tuesday!

Hey everyone,

So, before I get into the post I’ve decided that I do need to get on top of tags/awards that I am nominated for, and so I have decided to do so by creating ‘Tag Tuesday’ on my blog! Basically, whenever I am nominated for a tag or an award, I’ll post them on a Tuesday, which means that every so often there should be an extra post a week!

So, onto the post, the lovely Courtney Eve has nominated me for the Leibster Award!  I always enjoy doing these because they let you know so much more about bloggers, they’re super fun.  So, make sure to go check out Courtney’s Blog and follow her!

The official rules for the award can be found here, on the Global Aussie’s blog.

Courtney’s Questions …..

  1. What is your favourite thing to cook and/or bake? I love to bake, I do food technology GCSE so I cook pretty much every week.  I loved making white chocolate and dark chocolate layered mousse with berry composite, but one of my true favourite things to bake are any form of bakewell tart; frangipani is my absolute favourite!
  2. What’s the most extreme thing you’ve ever done? I don’t do many extreme things, but I suppose you could say my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award practice walk was the most extreme thing.  We walked 20K on the first day, with a huge 16KG backpack on, and then camped (sleeping on the floor of the tent, which was a tragic time for my back) and then walked another 15K the next day.  I had to learn to navigate from a map and it really tests your patience to spend so much time with so few people!
  3. What would be the first thing you’d do if you won the lottery? How much are we talking?! If I won the lottery, the first thing I’d do would go and tell my Mum so we could make plans of what to do! We’d probably book a nice relaxing holiday to soak in the news, and then I guess I’d start buying myself lots of nice things.
  4. Of all the places you’ve travelled to, which one is your favourite? The south of France wins by miles.  I love France, it’s so pretty and the beaches in the south are amazing, not to mention the weather.  My favourite place has to be Pont Du Garde in Avignon, it’s so pretty and there’s a huge supermarket around the corner – I sound so sad, but French supermarkets are pretty amazing!
  5. What is your favourite book, movie, and TV show? My favourite book has to be All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, my favourite movie is Pretty Woman and my favourite TV show has to be Gossip Girl!
  6. What do you do in your down-time? I sleep, or at least lie in bed on my phone!  I seem to be always tired, so whenever I’m not doing anything, I’m usually in bed!
  7. What is your favourite post you’ve written and why? This is really tough, but my favourite post has to be either my Technic Makeup Review   because it was my first PR related post and quite a turning point for my blog, or my Tips For New Bloggers  post because I feel like it’s been pretty useful to people!
  8. What is the scariest thing you’ve experienced? Hmmm, maybe every spider I’ve ever seen in my life? That, and the Edinburgh Dungeons; I love horror films but the whole live action people screaming at me isn’t a thing I enjoy.  The whole time I was more scared of being picked to go up and get locked in a cage or something stupid more than the actual experience!
  9. If you could take anyone travelling with you, who would it be and why? I’d probably take my best friend, because we live so far apart and basically never see each other (she lives in Yorkshire, I’m down here in Wiltshire and we only see each other for a few days in the summer and at christmas), so it would be amazing to go travelling with her and spend loads of time together!
  10. What is one place you’d love to see? New York is the place I’d love to see the most.  I think it’s such a breathtaking city and I’m so determined to go there; plus, I want to see all the gossip girl filming locations!  If not New York, then somewhere a little closer to home is the hill in Bristol with the bench where a whole host of scenes from the tv show ‘Skins’ were filmed, and I just think it would be such a beautiful place to visit.
  11. What do you love about yourself? Not very much!  No, I’d be lying if I said there weren’t things I love about myself, but I’d say my number one thing would be my humor.  It’s very sarcastic and quite rude, not for everyone but I love it, and I never fail to make myself laugh? That makes me sound so very lonely, but it is true!

I Nominate …..

My Questions For You …..

  1. How many pets have you had, and what were their names?
  2. Someone has a gun to your head and they’re about to shoot you, you have one phone call, and if they pick up, you’re safe.  If they don’t, then you get shot.  Who are you calling?
  3. What is your biggest fear, and do you ever plan to overcome it?
  4. What would your dream world be like?
  5. Create an ice cream flavour and give it a name! What does it taste of, and what colour is it?
  6. What is one dream of yours that you never think you’ll achieve?
  7. And what is one dream of yours that you didn’t think you’d achieve, but that you have achieved or are in the process of achieving? (Wow! That sounds complicated!)
  8. What GCSE options did/are you taking, and what grades did you get/do you hope to get? (If you’re not from the UK, a different question is basically just what subjects did you take in high school!)
  9. Are you a heavy or light sleeper?
  10. Would you prefer to be liked by many, but have false friends, or hated by everyone with only one true friend?
  11. Tomorrow is the end of the world.  What are you doing with your last day?

I hope you enjoyed my answers, I can’t wait to see everybody’s answers to my questions!

One Lovely Blog Award

My post from my nomination of the one lovely blog award & my nominees for it!

Featured image taken by me of a stream near my house.

The lovely Alanna from imagalaxygirl nominated me (in a fashion) for the One Lovely Blog Award!  I loved the way she nominated people for this: it was so that if you were a particular like, so say you were the 20th like, and she had said that the 20th like was to be nominated , then you were nominated.  It was really creative, I just explain things atrociously so you’ll have to go check out her post to find out how she did it! Again, thank you to Alanna and I’ll get onto the rules of the award.

  • Each nominee must THANK the person who nominated them and link their blog in the post.
  • They must include the rules and add the blog award badge as an image
  • Must add 7 facts about them.
  • Then nominate 15 people!

Seven Facts About Me:

In all honesty, there isn’t much to know about me that I don’t think you all know already, so some of these facts are a little weird and random as I’ve had a really hard timing coming up with them!

  1. I am not a very creative person.  That’s right – I may be a blogger but I am the least artistic person I know.  I used to be into writing stories a while ago, and would like to do that a little more sometimes but I always get stuck halfway through, give up and forget about it.  My dream was to be an author when I was a lot younger and first got into reading, but now I’m not at all sure what I’d like to do.  I envy people who can draw well or have a natural gift at writing narrative!
  2. I often indulge in a little retail therapy.  I love shopping, which may or may not be a little sad though I feel like many of you are in the same boat.  Ever since I was younger, one of my favourite activities was to go shopping but back then I’d just raid Disney Store and Claire’s Accessories and waste my money.  Now, I love to shop in Topshop and Hollister mainly.  I actually went shopping last weekend and did some pretty serious damage to my bank account – I consider myself on a spending ban for the rest of the month!
  3. I am really bad at falling asleep on a nighttime.  I find it so hard to fall asleep at night, and then I end up staying awake all night long and waking up in the morning feeling like pure rubbish!  I have improved slightly since I’ve started taking melatonin more often and limiting myself to the time I have on my phone before I go to bed (a quick tip for anyone like me would be to turn the brightness of your phone all the way down and turn night shift on when you’re looking at it in the dark as it is less of a strain on your eyes!)
  4. I’m doing DofE.  That’s right, lazy old me is completing my Duke of Edinburgh award!  I’m at the bronze level, and I was regretting it whilst we were on our ten mile practice walk a couple of weekends ago; the weather was horrible!  It rained the most part, and at one point we were climbing a hill which was really muddy and it started to hail and I fell down the hill! It was a great laugh and I enjoyed being with my friends but it was equally tiring and freezing.  For my physical section I’m doing walking/hiking – I’m not a sporty person so this was an option I felt was good and I can achieve easily on weekends with my family.  My skills section is gardening which is actually more fun than I’d expected and since this is the section I’m doing for 6 months it means I’ll get to enjoy my garden in the summer more.  For volunteering I’m looking to volunteer in some local charity shops and someone got back to me today and arranged a meeting on Saturday which I’m slightly nervous for but all in all everything is turning out pretty good!
  5. I still play Pokemon Go.  Yep, I’m that guy!  I got hooked when it first came out and although I don’t leave my bedroom very often (living a really fun reclusive life if any of you were wondering) to go catch pokemon, I do enjoy it whilst I’m out and about!  I’m a level sixteen now & I have caught some pretty decent pokemon – I still have a small moment of joy when I see a pikachu!  It may be sad, but I’m not giving up on it any time soon!  Do any of you still play it or am I alone in this game?
  6. One of my biggest obsessions (aside from cats!) is makeup.  Like you couldn’t have guessed this, I’m a bit of a makeup fanatic.  I have a whole dressing table drawer brimming with the stuff, and it never stops growing!  I’m thinking of maybe buying the Alex Drawers from ikea in their five set to store some of my makeup in, as I don’t think I’ll ever collect enough to fill the nine drawers but I reckon that five full drawers is pretty achievable!
  7. I would love to travel when I’m older.  The idea of continuing school after college and going on to get a more ‘professional’ job like a doctor or a vet really doesn’t appeal to me.  I haven’t actually got a single clue what I would like to do after college, but I’m 99% sure it’s not going to be university.  I’d love to travel, and I’m always so inspired by Charlotte from CHARLOTTE J.  She’s travelling solo at the moment and I would love to do something like that!  The place at the top of my list is Iceland to see the northern lights and go in the lagoons, though I’d also love to go backpacking around Europe and try to visit as many of the cities as I can.  The one place I’d really love to go is Italy, because as of this far in my fourteen years I’ve never been!

  My Nominees:

  1. Charlotte from CHARLOTTE J
  2. Harriet from Harriet Day
  3. Jess from Sunshine and Teacups
  4. Naomi from Withlovenaomi
  5. Najida from The Average Gurl
  6. Jules from Blonde’s Tea
  7. PaleGirlRambling

I only have seven nominations for this post, and of course I can understand that blog award posts become slightly tedious – do not worry, I won’t be offended if you don’t post it!

Blog Awards

A couple of blog awards I’ve recently been nominated for!

Featured image taken by me: Tribute wall of tiles dedicated to aids in Bournemouth.  I thought it was really creative.

I’m dropping you in an extra post this week, you’ll (maybe?) be pleased to hear!  I didn’t think that a post such as blog awards constituted for a Saturday/Wednesday post however I really wanted to do this and I’m going to start doing the blog awards which I do receive during the week as extra posts instead of being lazy and ignoring them as I always do – I think they’re really positive ways to express your admiration of a blog and get blogs you value noticed by others.

The lovely Chloe from Marble Beauty nominated me for two blogger awards, which I am extremely grateful for!  Chloe’s blog is one I love so much – she’s incredibly active and posts quality content literally every day.  You really do need to go follow her, I guarantee you’ll love her posts just as much as I do.  I was nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award and the Versatile Blogger Award.  Like Chloe, I’ll be leaving my nominees for both awards at the end of the post so make sure to stay tuned!

The Mystery Blogger Award

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.
  • Tell your readers three things about yourself.
  • Answer 5 questions from the nominator.
  • Nominate 10 or more people
  • Notify your nominees by leaving the nomination link in the “comments” of their blog
  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice, with one weird or funny question (specify)

The creator of this award is OkotoEnigma.

Three Things About Myself:

  1. I used to really love reading when I was younger (like 10,11,12 years old) and would devour a book in a day.  I never really read much anymore, unless I’m on holiday when I can finish a good ten books in a week!  I’d love to get back into reading though, but I read in school and it’s so boring there so I’m never in the mood to do it at home.
  2. I love more literary subjects at school like English or History.  My brain is definitely not mathematically or logically minded; I’m horrible at chemistry, maths and physics but I can do biology and actually really enjoy it.
  3. I like to think I’m a tidy, organised person and a bit of a neat freak but in reality I’m such a mess and that definitely reflects in the state of my bedroom!

Questions From Marble Beauty:

  1. What is your all time favourite makeup item? – I absolutely adore mascara and couldn’t live without it, my favourite has to be Benefit’s Roller Lash.
  2. Best holiday you ever went on? – My favourite holiday has to be my two and a half weeks I spent in the south of France in 2015 in the French Riviera.  We went to St. Tropez, and visited lots of rivers which I swam in (they were pretty chilly but it was warm when you got out, so it was fine).  My favourite place has to be Pont Du Gard in Avingon area, it was so lovely and swimming in it was amazing – there were lots of little fish and the water was so warm.  Plus, the supermarkets in Avingon are insane, they’re great all over France actually.  Hopefully we’ll be going back when I’ve finished my GCSEs!
  3. Favourite way to spend your free time? – This sounds like a question from my recent French speaking exam! I usually like to cosy up in my bed or on the sofa with my laptop and phone and just browse the internet and maybe play some Sims which is my complete obsession.  I usually have chocolate with me too, my diet is just shocking!
  4. If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you choose? – I have two cats, whom I love so dearly and couldn’t live without.  Cats are my favourite animal, but I wont be classic crazy cat lady and answer this question with ‘more cats’.  I’d actually really love a tiger for a pet, they look so fluffy and cuddly, although I’m sure they’d probably rip my face off!
  5. What are your top 3 staple clothing items? – I’d probably say black joni jeans from Topshop, I wear these literally all the time.  Then a light jacket, such as one I’ve been really loving from Hollister recently – it’s khaki and goes with almost everything.  Finally, I’d say white converse – I wear these with pretty much every outfit and they always go!  I’m so basic haha!

My Questions:

  1. What are you wearing?
  2. What is your ultimate comfort food?
  3. Which song reminds you of a holiday?
  4. When was the last time you went shopping?
  5. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?

Versatile Blogger Award

Again, this nomination came from Marble Beauty!

The Rules:

  • You have to thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog!
  • Nominate at least 15 bloggers of your choice.
  • Link the nominees and inform them about their nomination.
  • Share 7 facts about yourself (being truthful!)

My Facts:

  1. I don’t clean my makeup brushes and tools anywhere near as often as I should.  I can see them now and they really need a clean!
  2. I’m absolutely addicted to Ed Sheeran’s new album, Divide.  It’s playing right now, and my favourite song has to be ‘What do I know?’ or ‘Nancy Mulligan’ – I especially think Nancy Mulligan is so sweet as it’s about his grandfather, William, and Nancy is his grandmother!
  3. I’m the biggest procrastinator that you’ll find! All my homework is left until the very last minute, e.g 10:30pm the night before it’s due, or at lunch on the same day it’s due.  However, I do sometimes  have extremely productive days, which can be odd and quite disconcerting!
  4. I’m a big person in writing things down!  My desk cupboards are filled with beautiful, half filled notebooks of random ideas.  The thing is, I never finish them and I still buy more.  I have enough to sink a ship!
  5. My favourite country I’ve been to has to be France, and I would really love to visit Australia and the Maldives.
  6. When I’m older I honestly have no clue what I want to do for a job, but I was thinking about doing biology A-Level.  I know I don’t want to go to uni, and I’d love to work with animals.
  7. I really don’t want children, they annoy the hell out of me and I don’t think I could stand having any!

My Nominees For Both Awards:

  1. Alanna
  2. Elin
  3. Amelia
  4. Madi
  5. Tash

I only nominated five, but of course if you’d like to do one of these awards feel free – you’re all nominated!

Bloggers Recognition Award

Hey guys,

The amazing and wonderful and lovely Alanna over at I’m A Galaxy Girl has nominated me for the Bloggers Recognition Award!  Alanna is one of THE best people I’ve met over blogging, she’s so kind and amazing and is one of my most loyal followers.  I love her so much, and you should all go check out her wonderful blog and follow her – she posts every single day which, as we all know, is the real struggle in life and she always keeps up to it.  Amazing, anyway, I’ll get on with the award (but you really should follow Alanna!).

My Journey as a Blogger

In January/February 2015 I had just started a new school & still I was a bit bored (typical) and I’d always wanted to start a blog.  I read through loads of other blogs and then realised that blogging didn’t have to include my name, I could be whoever I wanted to be whilst still being myself.  That’s when my Mum and I (who was very frustrated at me for always being so bored) came up with the oh-so-creative I’m A Zalfie Fanatic.  I blogged nearly every day at first, didn’t know how to use wordpress and was getting no followers, and I very nearly gave up.  I started learning how to use wordpress and soon I found I had a good few followers and that just grew.  Now, I’m 120-odd followers and so so so glad I didn’t give up, because blogging is one of my favourite things in my life.  It’s amazing to connect with other people, have a supportive group of friends who can listen to you whenever and I’ve met some great people along the way.  I recently stopped being anonymous and revealed my name (my last post here) and I got so much support it’s insane.  I’m looking to make my blog more me, more professional etc and everyone just supports me in everything I do. It’s particularly great, actually.

My Advice to Other Bloggers

  1. Good quality photos – I’m the biggest culprit for not sticking to this rule, but I cannot express how important it is!  Cover photos are the first things someone who’s looking at your post is probably going to see, so the more eye catching it is the more likely they are to click it.  When you’re taking photos for your blog, research other really successful bloggers and look at how they take photos.  Choose a style and try stick to it.  The camera you use is important – Iphone 6 has a great camera, and it’s good to use on the go if you see a pretty flower and want to snap it for your blog, but if you’re taking a good photo, ideally you should use a good camera.  Lucky for me, my Dad has a canon camera which I may or may not be inclined to stealing forever once or twice, but you can always buy a cheaper digital camera and they work well too.
  2. Have fun – Your blog should be about you, and you should always try to be yourself on your blog.  However, a rule i use above that is to have fun.  Blogging shouldn’t be a chore, it should be a place you can escape and have fun.  Always make sure what you’re posting is you, and when you wrote it you had fun and you liked the outcome.  Then, all your followers are more likely to enjoy reading it if they can sense it’s well written and fun.
  3. Never give up – Blogging is hard, there’s no doubt about it.  Keeping up a schedule is hard, getting inspiration for posts is hard, taking photos and writing can be hard.  But whatever is going on, however hard you’re finding it, whoever is giving you grief, even if you have so little hope left in yourself you don’t know the definition of hope, don’t give up.  Blogging will get easier and chances are you’re just frustrated, bored with it, if you have such a small following, still don’t give up.  Keep going, and in the long run you’ll thank me for it!
  4. Interaction with followers -If anything this is my most valuable piece of advice.  You must must must interact with your followers.  I’m not saying follow everyone back who follows you, but if they comment on your post be sure to reply, even if it is just ‘Thank you’.  If they ask you to check out their blog then do, and go like/comment on some posts.  You never know, you might find a blog you love.  Your followers will realise you’re actually all for blogging and be more loyal to your blog if you interacr with them.

I Hit 100 Followers!

After a year and a bit of me being on this blog, we finally hit 100 followers!!  I’m so happy, seriously!  And I would like to say thank you to my 100th follower, my best friend who just created a blog over at ThatReligionTheyCallBeauty, and you should go over and follow her and comment & like her first post and give her all the love, she’s a very lovely person ;D!

So yeah, I know this doesn’t seem like such a huge achievement for some people, to me it is massive.  I’ve been working for this over a year, I have finally got it!

And as I’ve mentioned in my last few posts, I’ll be doing a Q & A post in celebration of this milestone, so please if you have any questions then ask me in the comments or on my twitter @ZalfieFanatic, and I will answer every single one!! They can seriously be about anything, anything at all I don’t mind.  So long as they’re not disgusting.

And I’ve got a schedule and one that I will stick to, every Monday & Friday I will post hopefully not as late as this, sometime around 5-6pm ish but today I just really wanted a relax after my first day back at school.  Sometimes you might see me posting in between times but mostly it will be just on a Monday & Friday.

Anyway, I was planning on doing the Q & A on Friday so all your questions would be great by then please 😀 – however, I have an amazing (and cheap!!) primer that I would like to review so I might do that tomorrow or Wednesday if you want?

But again, thank you thank you thank you SO SO SO MUCH & don’t forget to go follow ThatReligionTheyCallBeauty –  she’s just started her blog (inspired by nobody less than myself!) and she is my best friend in real life, I know her personally & can 100% assure you she is wonderful & very gorgeous & talented so please go check her out!!

Bye! xxx

Liebster Award

So, I’ve not been really very active with 24 days of Zalfie Fanatic, but that’s okay I guess.  I didn’t realise the pressure of posting every day would be this much, and I want to bring out decent content for you all, not some crappy idea I’ve just pulled out of my mind in five minutes.  But now I’ve broken up for school you’ll see a lot more of me, hopefully!!

The lovely Lauren over at Life Being Lauren has nominated me to do the Liebster award, which is so kind of her!  Lauren has such a good blog, you should all go check it out and follow her if you don’t already.  She has two gorgeous kittens as well, so that’s a reason to follow her anyway!

So, the rules:

  • Post the award on your blog.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you, and include a link to their blog.
  • Write eight random facts about yourself.
  • Nominate eight bloggers who you think are deserving and who have less than 200 followers.
  • Answer the questions put forward by the nominating party and put up 8 questions for your nominees.

My Eight Random Facts About Myself:

  1. I have two cats, which is the fact that I always use so you probably know already, one is ginger and white and called Katzen which means ‘Cat’ in German, and the other is black and white and called Rosie.
  2. I’m from the North of the UK, in West Yorkshire.
  3. I’m currently in year nine in high school.
  4. I really have absolutely no clue what I’d like to do when I’m older.
  5. I can play some songs on the piano, but very basically and I have to use an app which tells me when to play a certain note.
  6. English is my favourite lesson in school.
  7. I play GTA on Play Station 4.
  8. I’m currently watching Zoella’s Vlogmas & main channel videos as I’ in need of a major catch up!

My Nominations:

Here is everyone I want to nominate, which is eight of you!  There’s a running theme of eight in here I see! But I can’t manage eight, I don’t think I even follow enough epople to find eight, so I did four.  I’d love to nominate you all but some of you have over 200 followers, you very lucky people!

Imagalaxygirl – Alanna is like my little internet chum! She so deserves this award, she posts like almost every day without fail & is such a lovely person.

Blancobeautyblog – I love the makeup that Elspeth shares on her blog!

Answering The Questions:

You have a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world. Where would you go?

Probably somewhere like Bora Bora, I just think it looks amazing.  I’d go to some exotic island where you can just escape evrything and it’s gorgeous & warm

Who do you think is the most attractive person on earth?

Mr Joe Sugg, or Alfie Deyes.  Duh.  Or Colin Firth and Hugh Grant in their younger days.

If you had to stay one age forever what age would it be?

18 -all my exams would be over (I think) and I could buy my own house, have a job etc.  But then again also like 5 when I didn’t have to worry about anything.

Favourite TV show and why?

Oh God, well I have like seven, which I can’t narrow down to just one.  I can though, narrow it down to two.

Friends which has been my favourite since I was about ten and always will be.  I love it like so much you wouldn’t even understand.  I think I like it so much because it was something my Mum & Dad both used to watch & it’s kind of nostalgic I guess, I don’t know, but I really love it.

Then a new, yet solid favourite of mine is Pretty Little Liars.  It’s American but you can get it on Netflix (lets just have a moment for the joy that is Netflix) and it’s amazing.  I’m pretty sure nearly everyone watches it so I won’t go into detail, but I love it because it has such immensely detailed, mysterious plot lines that are so gripping.  I simply cannot wait for January 13th!

Describe your week in three words.

Well considering it is Monday today, very little has happened so far.  I will give you three words for last week though; tiring, exciting & festive.  We broke up for Christmas Holidays last week.

If you could tame any animal and have it for a pet what would it be?

Well obviously I do adore cats, so it would have to be something to do with cats.  SO probably a baby lion, or cheetah or a tiger – in fact, definietly a tiger.  Or maybe an elephant.

Snow or beach?

Snow, simply because I’ve not seen it yet & I last saw a beach in summer.

Silver or gold jewellery?

While I’m a sucker for rose gold jewellery, I totally hate gold jewellery.  I just think it can look a bit tacky sometimes and it doesn’t suit me either.  So I prefer silver jewellery.

Questions for my nominees:

What is your favourite thing about summer and what is your favourite thing about winter?

What is the climate like where you live?

Do you prefer long nails with amazing designs and patterns or short nails painted with clear polish, neat and tidy?

What does your daily make up routine consist of (if you have one) – don’t worry, if you want to just answer this briefly you can, mine would be a whole blog posts worth!!

Are you a dog person or a cat person (and if you’re a dog person could I convert you???)

What is your favourite subject at school/what was it?

Is there a food you like that others find disgusting?

Top 3 favourite movies and why?

Alrighty guys so that’s me done! Again, I’m sorry for my lack of posting but I’ll be here until Christmas now hopefully!  And thank you for a second time to the lovely Lauren for this nomination, I’m sorry it took so long to get up; blame procrastination!

Merry Christmas xx

A BIG Update Post!

The reason I titled this ‘A BIG Update Post’ is not because I have a big update (as in something exciting and something that will change this blog forever) but because I have a post consisting of many many little updates & things I want to tell you all!

And at the end of this post I’ll be including my Liebster award, thank you for that Lancoraperla! You should all go and check out her wonderful blog after you’ve read this post.

Okay, so, onto the updates:

  1. I’m going to France (family holiday) on Friday 24th July. That is ten days away.  I’m ridiculously excited.  This means that you guys will, without fail (and I promise to this, so make sure you hold me to it) will be getting a post about France every day!  These will be the sort of posts you guys will be seeing, but if you have any suggestions/what you want to see or what you would find useful, I’m begging you to comment down below with your ideas!:
  • My Scrapbook:  So I made a scrapbook with inspiration from Okaaythen’s post.  Her scrapbook is goals not gonna lie and mine is like a measly pesant compared to hers but I seriously thank her for the idea.  I’m going to scrapbook my trip to France for you and write a hell of a lot of things in there and like post it daily for you.  And I’m actually kind of proud because I made it right from scratch, front to back.  I put in all the papers myself and even attached it all together and its actually decent for me so yannoe.  I might post this in the run up to France or in France.  Idk.  probably in France.
  • Look books. Simple.  I guess.  GIVING YOU INSPIRATION FOR WHAT YOU CAN WEAR!
  • Last minute shopping haul(s).
  • What is in my carry on bag for a hell of a long journey (not just 5hrs, like, 20hrs)
  • Makeup essentials
  1.   Tomorrow is Sports day at my school so I’ll probably just be coming back tomorrow having a good moan like seriously I hate sports day and I’m running 200m not even joking.
  2. I finish school on FRIDAY! (3 days) which means more posts and more me!  Are you excited? I guessed.
  3. I’m going to start doing more DIY posts (or actually DIY posts, I don’t do the now)

Okay so I guess I didn’t have that many updates but it felt like I did so we’re saying that I did.  Feel informed?  Good!!

Anywaysss, I guess I’ll go onto the Liebster Award now:

The Rules:

  1. Once nominated, make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you.
  2. Include the LEIBSTER AWARD sticker in the post too
  3. Nominate 10 other bloggers who you think are worthy of this award. Let them know they have been nominated by commenting on 1 of their posts. You can nominate the person who nominated you
  4. Answer the 10 questions asked to you by the person who nominated you and make ten questions of your own for your nominees.
  5. Lastly, copy these rules in the post.

My Answers….

If you found out that you only had one more week to live, what would you do?

If I had only one week left to live, I’d probably cry for a day and spend as much of my time with my family as I could.  I not the sort of person who’d want to fulfil a ‘last wish’ like going to Disney Land or meeting my idol.  I’d just want to spend as much time with my family and people I care about as possible and appreciate the little things. I’m not going to continue because I’ll go too deep and make myself cry – I get very emotional over shit like this. I love you all.  Mkay bye.

What is your favourite smell?

Lush bath-bombs.  Specifically creamy candy bubble bar.  Otherwise, when my Mum is baking and it is cooking and it smells like so nice.

If you had the chance to meet any famous historical person, who would you choose?

Rosa Parks, the African-American lady who stayed in her seat on the bus in America because she refused to give it up to a white person.

What’s your favourite sweet treat?

Cheesecake or trifle.

Who do you admire most?

My Mum!  She has always been there for me through thick and thin and no matter what I’ve done, I know she’ll always be on my side and wont ever fall out with me.  Seriously, we’re best friends.  Forever.  I want to be just like her for my kid(s) when I’m older.  She is my idol.  I love her.  Mum, if you’re reading (because I know you sometimes do 😉 ) I love you!

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Sarcastic, kind & a bit of a bitch.

Are you a shower or a bath person? Why?

Showers when I want to have a quick get in, wash your hair & body, get out.  Baths when I want a relaxing soak and using up my bath bombs and stuff.  And it depends on the season – summer showers, winter  baths.

What would your dream pet be?

These two beautiful creatures which I am already so lucky as to have!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

This is really tough, how the hell do you expect me to choose food. HOW?  I really don’t think I can!  I’m sorry.  I feel defeatist.

Are you more introverted or extroverted?

An introvert.  I’m not shy in the slightest and I do love to talk and its not like I have not social life.  I just do not care for soical interaction during my own time, like when I’m out of school.  And I’m really particular about people I like, and prefer hanging out with boys.  I find girls so bitchy.  I just don’t particularly like people much.  Enough said.  I love you guys though!

Okay so thats my questions done, but I’m not going to nominate because I’ve run out of people to nominate (lol).  Again, thank you very much to Lancoraperla & right now (after you’ve liked and commented and all that wonderfully good stuff) go check out her amazing, lovely in every way blog!!

Zalfie Fanatic OUT!

Liebster Awards!

Okay so, I’m guessing your all pretty mad at me?

Thought so.

See, my ‘Post a day’ thing isn’t working.  I’ll be posting more frequently again soon, my life has just been so busy.

I basically had a sleepover with my ‘best friend’ and I am still to this day surprised by girly bitchiness!  I didn’t want to get involved in bitching but I probably accidentally did and said something bad.  Thing is, I don’t feel I can trust anyone with my secrets and stuff, like, ever.  Only my Mum.

Only my Mum.  It has just dawned on me about how EXTREMELY sad that sounds.

So, having seen these floating about wordpress, but being a new blogger, not knowing much about them, when I was awarded one by Okaaythen I was over the moon.  One, because I’d been nominated for a blog award (with this feeble blog, goodness knows why) and two, well the whole question thing looked pretty damned fun.

Anywhoooo, I researched into the Liebster Award because I didn’t know much about it at all, had just seen a star shaped (ish) kind of stamp on other blogs that read LIEBSTER AWARD.

So I found some rules, which I’m going to go by:

1. Post the award on your blog.

2. Thank the blogger who presented this award and link back to their blog.

3. Write 11 random facts about yourself.

4. Nominate 11 bloggers who you feel deserve this award and who have less than 200 followers.

5. Answer 11 questions posted by the presenter and ask your nominees 11 questions.

You can find these (and a bunch of other rules – they are very different, all of them) HERE

However, I will be nominating 3 bloggers, and answering the 10 questions that Okaaythen asked in the post linked (‘okaaythen’ is the link to the post).  I also wont be doing the 11 facts – just look on the page of the rules.  Also, I’ll be nominating blogs with whatever number of followers they have, new or old, so that part of the rules should not apply.

So, I think I’ll answer the questions first, then do my question to my nominees, then nominate my bloggers, then add in the ‘leibster’ award badge thing – some rules said you had to, so I guessed I should.

  1. If you had to have a sit down with God (or your respective deity) what would be your first question?

Even though I do not worship a God, I will still answer this question (obviously).  I would ask him/she/it why they caused pain and suffering in the world if they had all the power to stop it – why do they let people starve, be homeless, not have enough money at all to get by and other things like terminal ilness.  Why do they let this happen

2. Are you interested in any “Big Issues”?

Big issues wise, not particularly.  I do feel passionate about a few subjects, but I believe this is due to the way I have been brought up, listening to what my Mum & Dad have said about certain things led me to feeling passionate about some subjects.  I am interested in equality (sexism, racism etc) as I do find this very unfair and believe that EVERYONE, no matter what race/gender/religion should be viewed as the same and on the same level.  So yes actually – I feel passionate about a few subjects.  Wow, I kind of find it weird how I went from ‘not particularly’ at the start to ‘yes, completely, very unfair’ at the end.  I confuse myself.  A lot.

3. Have you ever been to/watched/partaken in a protest?

I would like to say yes, I am an exciting human being and I see protests all the time, and I partake in protests all the time.  But because I am boring and never leave my computer screen, nope, the closest I’ve come to a protest is on the news, or when I silenced my family for a whole day because there was no snacks in the house.  I’m sure they love me very much ♥ haha probably not.  Joking, I love them.  Wait how did I get onto my family through protest, ah yes, silencing.  Okay next question please, everyone thinks your a weirdo.

4. What three items could you not live without?

Food.  Wifi. Phone.

Haha I bet you thought I was being real there.  Noooope.  Although I’d find it hard to live without the above, I could probably do it (maybe not food, because that REALLY is a necessity, but say we’re talking on the scale of a packet of crisps, or a midnight pizza take-out just because).

So I do realise that I sound like basically an idiot when I say this, but today I watched the real life human version of Cinderella.  It was really good, and I sobbed basically through the whole thing (I also saw the short film Frozen Fever before that but all I learnt from that was that if your a snow queen like Elsa, don’t sneeze when you have a cold because you sneeze little baby snowmen like five at a time and they wreck your sisters birthday and Olaf adopts them, but off topic so I’ll shut up).  But what I learnt from this movie is that family means everything.  I cried when the parents died and she was alone.  I cried when her stepmother was awful to her.

I realised that to live without my family would be really hard.

So, three things I cannot live without:

– My family

– WordPress (I feel like I’ve become so close to people on here and I have an insight to their lives and like we’re buddies and that is really nice, my lil’ internet chummies!)

– Central heating – this is odd because all my friends always say my house is roasting (it is because I like it like that) because I’m always so cold.  I am always cold.  Always.  Central heating is the only thing to stop me getting hypothermia.

5. What’s the best thing in your life right now?

Right now, the best thing in my life would have to be my Cat called Katzen.  I mean, she’s usually the best thing in my life anyway, but when its the holidays we just get cuddle time so often its just like, yes, just yes.

6. What’s the most thought provoking thing that’s happened to you all day?

Thought provoking.  My supposedly ‘best friend sister person’ making up some bs that I said something about someone at a sleepover.  I trust nobody.  Thats kind of bad I guess.  Other than my Mum.  Ha, Ha ha.

7. What are your goals in life?

My goals in life are this:

– come out of high school with good GCSE’s and go on to do something I enjoy in collage.

– come out of collage with decent grades and some life long friends.

travel places with these life long best friends and enjoy my life.

when I get home, find a guy that is like my best friend and then date.  Settle down and get married on a white sandy beach with a gorgeous dress.

– have a child (daughter preferably first, then son)

I’d also like to have a good job and feel stable with my life.  I swear down to myself I wont ever go off the rails and do drugs, smoke or be obsessive over alcohol.

8. How do you plan to achieve these goals?

Work damned hard in high school & collage and then be chill.  Also, always have a positive mindset.

9. If you could have anything you wanted, what would you have?

If I could have anything I wanted, I’d probably have lots of baby kittens.  #freakycatlady

10. You had a good day, chicken wing?

No ta.  I’ll have cake instead – don’t like chicken wings.

WOW.  So now, I feel pretty damned worn out – we’ve not even done the nominees, my questions or what.  Flipping long post this is.  1302 words right now.

Okaaythen (not just because you nominated me, because I genuinely lalalove your blog)

An Overthinking Teenager (I was looking at Okaaythen‘s nominees, found myself clicking onto your blog, following it instantly and reading all your posts!  Your blog is great!)

Demii & Soniaa (I love your tutorials so much!  You are great DIY-ers!)

Okay so there are my nominees.  I urge you all from the bottom of my heart to please go check their blogs out because they are all full to the brim with weird & wonderful stuff!

1. What do/did you like the best about school & what did you least like about it?

2. Chocolate or sweets and salted popcorn or sweet? – I have to ask this to get to know people! Ha ha, I’m very picky.

3. Wait until a film comes out on DVD or go see it in the cinemas?

4. Are you vegetarian or have you ever thought about become a vegetarian?

5. Where do you most want to travel to in the world?

6. Are you good or bad with pain?

7. Do you enjoy reading from a book, or an e-book/kindle?

8. What season is your favourite?

9. If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you move and what would your house be like?

10. Walks in the rain, yes or no?

Okay so that is me done for questions, I guess now, I’ll display the liebster award (and if any of you could tell me how I can display it on the side of my blog like some people do, I would be ever so grateful – I’ve been fiddling around with widgets and what not for ages to try find this, but have failed miserably!)

WordPress is not letting me upload what I need to, but I will get a picture of the liebster award up today hopefully!

Anyway, included in this post I really would like to update you on what seems like a lack of me on here:

On Friday night I spontaneously invited my friend around to sleep, and if I’m honest, forgot about this.  It wasn’t the best of times at the start, because this particular girl ‘who is my best friend’ tries to get me involved in bitching, mainly bitching about other girls whom we claim to be our friends.  But I know that sadly, I cannot trust anyone when I bitch about people, as things are so easily spread, and I feel maybe something could have been spread already, even though it hasn’t. Anyway, after the sleepover, me and the girl went to the cinemas to see the new Cinderella movie, which is infact, amazing.  I cried a lot, as I’ve probably already said. When we dropped her home, we went out to my Grandma & Grandads for a belated easter meal.  It was horrendous.  I began composing this post at their house, but felt too tired to continue due to the fact that I finally went to sleep at 6 in the morning and woke up at 8 in the morning, running on two hours of sleep, broken up by my friends snores & sleep talking.

Anyway, the food we  ate at my Grandma’s made me feel as if I had food poisoning (and I still feel like that now) so I had to give up writing and sleep it off.  On a sofa, in the conservatory, and yesterday was cold, and I wore a belly top.

So, today is Sunday, and I have one week of my holidays left.  I am sat in bed finishing off my last easter egg, the best, the thorntons chick one.    Therefore I am going to write about a million and one blog posts to have them uploaded for you all today (and in the coming days) to make up for the lack of well, me.

Thank you for listening to my woes.

Alsooooo, have you noticed things have been spruced up a bit round here? Eh? Eh?  I thought so.  I’ll be updating the look of my blog for today, and it will be complete by the end of today as I was feeling my old theme was  getting  bit, well, old.  I’ll be keeping this one though, because I love it, but I’m not sure on the aztec background.  Thoughts?

Anyway, thanks for your time.  I’ve wasted your life with so far, 2077 words of pointless talk.

Love to you all

Zalfie fanatic out ♥
